Description: About: theMINT: envisioned in the past, resurrected by opportunity, executed by experience, enriched by community, growing through innovation What We Do: Gastropub refers to a bar and restaurant that serves high-end beer and food.[1] The term gastropub, a portmanteau of gastronomy and pub, originated in England in the late 20th century. English pubs were drinking establishments and had little emphasis placed on the serving of food. Then that all changed. theMINT is an AMERICAN Gastropub that focuses on premium food and beer as well as premium spirits, cocktails, and martinis.

“The Mint Gastropub Worth a Visit”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

This restaurant is easy to find and they have their own offstreet parking which is a plus for Bethlehem, PA. They are only open for dinner. The menu has items on it that you will not find anywhere else in town. It is very eclectic with many original dishes conceived by the chef. The bartender is also trying to add to the eclectic feel by putting some twists to very popular drinks but IMHO that did not work out too well. The service is very good, the food prices are somewhat expensive but the portions are large. The dishes that we ordered were very tasty and the presentation is way above average. The place has a modern decor and I think they are trying to be a hip new place to go in town but they sort of miss the mark. The bar seating is crowded and the layout for the dining tables is a little strange for a restaurant. I think it detracts from the atmosphere. I would definitely go back to the Mint for the food experience. If you are a foody the Mint is definitely worth a trip.

“Wow, one of my new favorites”
Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

I'm actually mad that I put this place off for so long after dining here. Very hip place, great service, but the highlight is the food. Some selections on the eclectic menu might not be everyone's taste but as a foodie I loved it. (Few restaurants have "sweetbreads" on their menu as example) The foie gras app was hands down the best I ever had. The preparation of the mussel app was wonderful, and my duck three ways was great although the "fried" leg was a bit too done. My fiance's smoked scallops (four huge scallops) were perfectly cooked and tasted great, as was the lobster risotto which was cooked perfectly, not a sticky mess as is common at some places. Great beer selection also. They were out of my favorite beer but our server recommended something similar that was great. Walked away stuffed, lots of food and four drinks (two beers, two Martinis) for a bit over $100 for two. Can't wait to go back, which will be often.

“So close yet so far”
Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

The food is really fantastic and the beer list is extensive and of superior quality. That being said i must protest about the atmosphere, the layout is obviously modern but to be honest i could care less about style when i go out to eat, the seating is laid out in a confused arrangement that draws your attention to the entrance and bathroom. The chairs were fairly uncomfortable after a while and there was no place to hang my coat either. The service was inattentive and didn't bring fresh silver after a course was finished. If i am paying top dollar i expect top dollar service. The food was there but the rest i can do without

“Unusual but excellent pub fare with great atmosphere and service”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This was my second time at The Mint. Both times we were seated at the vault due to the size of our group. It's a great location if you can get it. Onto the food! The selection is varied. You can get the standard pub fare such as a burger or something more exotic such as ratatouille. Everything we had was excellent and the beer menu is HUGE. The service both times as excellent and the servers where witty. The atmosphere is very hip and feels like you could be in an upscale place in Manhattan.

“Very cool”
Reviewed January 15, 2013 via mobile

Great on every level. Chef Dominic keeps the menu fresh and eclectic with new spins on old classic. Brad is already ready to give a welcome and Craig keeps the bar moving and the crowd happy. Every member of the wait staff knows the ever changing and exciting menu and also can give recommendations on both menu items but also on drink specials and a great beer selection. We recommend The Mint to all our friends and are always confident that they will be treated well and are sure to have a remarkable experience.
