our food and service was excellent. My husband had the leg of lamb, and I had a gyro both dishes were well prepared. We ordered the roasted beets as a side dish, but we were disappointed. The beets were canned and tossed with a dressing. I was expecting fresh roasted beets.... there is a difference! I love beets regardless so no worries. Vanilla icecream and baklava for desert..... yum!

Marks1Babe, thank you for your dining with us and we'd also like to thank you for writing a spectacular review. We couldn't be happier to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your experience at our restaurant.

From reading over your review, we saw you commented on our beets. We wanted to let you know that our beets are actually not canned and that they are prepared fresh and roasted in house. We also marinate them in Greek vinegar, olive oil and oregano.

We want to thank you for sharing your experience with us and the TripAdvisor community. We truly appreciate when guests take the time out of their day to leave an amazing review. We hope you realize how much it means and know that this kind gesture doesn't go unnoticed.

Thank you, and we hope to see you and your husband back soon!

Thank you, and we can't wait to see you both back soon!

masterlady, thank you for leaving an incredible review and we'd also like to thank you for choosing our restaurant as the location for your Girls' Night Out! We couldn't be happier to hear that everyone had a fabulous time at our restaurant.

We'll be sure to let our culinary team know that they did an excellent job preparing your meals. We're glad to hear that you were able to save room for dessert. All of our dessert offerings are delicious but often times patrons are too full from their main meals to try any of them.

We enjoyed our meal at Yianni's. The good things: nice decor - greek isle theme (blue and white) without being tacky - big windows, generally a nice place to spend time. This was an anniversary dinner for us, so it was special. However, while we like good food, we're not particularly into jacket and tie places, so this was a nice compromise there - no need to get all fancied up, but still, most people made an effort - no jeans and flip flops. The food was very nice. Honestly, it wasn't the best Greek food I've tasted, but it was good. We had the fried cheese (served flambe table side) and three dips as appetizers - the spicy feta dip and the creamy garlic dip were extremely tasty and the warm pita was delicious - very good pita. We were pretty full already after just that. But, of course we also had our main courses. Mine was a nice, but not amazing salmon dish. I do not recall what my husband had, but he felt the same - nice, but not really great. For dessert we shared one of the desserts, which was very good.

The thing that slightly took away from the experience was the service. Our waiter was only somewhat attentive and spoke very loudly. I got the feeling he wanted us to think he was amazing, moreso than the food and restaurant, but he tried to make that happen by "impressing us" with his grandeur rather than providing great service. He wasn't awful, mind you, but definitely a point commented on during the evening between the two of us on more than one occasion. Also, the policy seemed to be that our waiter would absolutely not top up our water glasses. Only some junior member of the waitstaff seemed to be doing this. We'd ask our waiter for more water after sitting with drained glasses for quite a while and still wait 10 or 15 minutes longer for water. That is something of a pet peeve of mine. It wasn't all that busy while we were there, either, lest one imagine that the staff were simply overwhelmed. Only about 1/3 of the tables were used at 7:30pm on a Saturday evening.

All in all, I'd go back and have no reservations about recommending the place. It's best for slow, lingering dining. More for adults than kids (although there were a couple of children there).

My best girlfriends from college and I try to get together for Ladies' Day once a month. We love to go to nice restaurants and linger over lunch. Yianni's Taverna was perfect! The decor is beautiful and the service is great. We started with three dips (hummus, tatziki and an eggplant dip) and homemade pita. For lunch, I had the mussels in a cream sauce - it was amazing. Thank goodness the server brought over bread so I could sop up the goodness. I also had a beet salad which was fabulous. My friends loved their meals, too. The prices are very reasonable. I can't wait to go back it was that good.

I took my wonderful partner out for a belated birthday diner and two of our friends. (We spent her real birthday on an 9 hour flight from eastern Europe.) So I was looking for something special. The problem with their menu is that everything looks wonderful! We picked three different appetizers to share. (Cold seafood assortment, fried octopus, and a flaming cheese dish.) We chose a bottle of a wonderful full bodied Greek red wine, followed up by some great entrees. (Quail, seafood in sauce, etc. ) Dessert was great too! Planning to come back!

Carl S, we want to thank you for dining with us and we'd also like to thank you for writing a phenomenal review. We are extremely delighted to hear that your partner thoroughly enjoyed her belated birthday experience at Yianni's.

We got worried when we first read your review because we first saw the line "The problem with their menu...," then we kept on reading and were instantly relieved! The good thing is that we aren't going anywhere so you'll eventually be able to try out all of the delicious dishes that we have to offer.

We couldn't be happier to hear that you plan on coming back! We want to thank you for sharing your experience with us and the TripAdvisor community. We truly appreciate when guests take the time out of their day to leave a fantastic review. We hope you realize how much it means and know that this kind gesture doesn't go unnoticed.
