“This place is great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

Took up SCUB diving recently and this is where I did my open water dive certification. What a great place. Family run, laid back, pleanty of room. This is a divers dream. But that is not all.
The waterpark on the other side of the water is great family fun, kayak rentals too and snorkeling too. There is also spots for camping on the weekends. The staff is very nice. Affordable price. Forget the big expensive theme parks, come here to play and enjoy.

“Unique Waterpark experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

Our first time visiting Dutch Springs was just a fluke. My family and I were staying at a nearby hotel and I clicked on the "things to do" button on the hotels website and I read the name Dutch Springs. So I did a quick internet search and thought it looked pretty interesting and definitely worth a look. Well after our first visit our kids wanted to go back the next day...but we already had our plans so we couldn't. But you better believe they reminded the next summer that we better hit Dutch Springs. Being a family that loves amusement parks and water parks so naturally something like Dutch Springs is attractive to us and at the same time different from the parks. You don't have to wait on long lines (unless it is for the Cannon launch; which by the way is pretty fun to see someone get launched 15 feet in the air from a seated position). The water is CRYSTAL CLEAR! Looked down right from the dock and bam you are looking 30 to 40 feet straight down. They have kayaks and peddle boats to rent so you can take a nice cruise around and looking down at 30 feet of limestone straight down in the water is pretty cool. We are planning a trip back there shortly. If you live within 1.5 hours to 2 hours it is definitely worth a trip to see if you like it.

“Lots of fun in a natural setting!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2012

We went here for the first time with our two school-aged kids. Bought half-priced tix online and went on a Monday just after they opened. You are required to wear life jackets, which are provided free with admission. The water was cool, but crystal clear. No debris whatsoever! Keep in mind that there is no beach; you just walk off a short ramp and --boom! -- you're in 50 feet of water. Lifeguards are everywhere, although always blowing their whistles because it's hard to hear their directives There are many inflatables and trampolines at varying degrees of difficulty, but most require substantial upper arm strength to climb them. My kids had no problem with this, however.

It got pretty crowded towards mid-day, so we took a break and rented kayaks right there at $6/half hour for a 2-person kayak. They also have paddle boats. They only accept cash, no credit cards. You can paddle up close to the beautiful limestone formations and it's very peaceful. Didn't take advantage of the scuba diving, but next time we will bring our snorkeling equipment. You can rent snorkeling gear there, though.

They sell pizza and ice cream here, but it's expensive. We packed sandwiches and camped out at one of their tent-covered picnic tables. Bring a frisbee or football to toss around on their large lawns. Their bathrooms and hot shower facilities were surprisingly clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We spent about 4 hours there. Great alternative to waterparks!

“Awesome Quarry Diving”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

We went down for a weekend with our local dive shop from NY to do our advanced certifications. The location was easy to get to, signing in the the morning went fast, rules and regulations were clear and the facility was easy to get around. There is ample parking, but you do need to get there early if you want spots closer to the quarry. The weekend we were there was very busy, but everyone was polite, helpful and we got to meet lots of new divers. The diving in the quarry was ok, the visibility was poor, this could have been due to the amount of student divers and the fact that it did rain on and off all weekend. The dive sites in the quarry were very good though, good navigation courses, the wrecks are cool (esp the helicopter) and tons of huge fish. We had a fun first night dive, there was a thunderstorm going on above the water and the lightning show underneath the water was spectacular! We filled our tanks there all weekend, prices are fair and it went fast. Our only complaint was that the shop on site didn't really have any dive equipment (we needed some batteries for our dive computers), but we just went five minutes down the road and found another shop - just seemed weird that as a dive location they didn't stock their own stuff to sell. Overall it was a great time - we'll definitely be back!

“Pennsylvania riviera”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2012

OK, so it's not really the riviera, and yes, I would much rather be diving in warm blue waters. But, it's an excellent way to spend a few days. Very easy entry, great for training and fun diving. Many underwater attractions, and fish. Well maintained and controlled. Also a water park and small coffee shop. Well worth the price of admission.
