“Great daytrip”
Reviewed September 8, 2010

We several families with small children around 3 to 4 years went there over the labor day weekend. Great hike, quite easy for all of us casual hiker, like 5 hikes per year for everyone. All the kids did just fine, we did stop for several times and carried some of them a little while, but overall the kids did just fine. BTW, we did the red counter clockwise.

It is so beautiful there. They have 4 different trails there, for the family with small children/strollers right up the the family that wants to see grest scenery and don't mind climbing a feww hundred steps. Many beautiful waterfalls. Gift stores.

“great day out”
Reviewed August 26, 2010

My husband and I read the reviews and took a friday off to go to Bushkill falls. It was great and we didn't have the traffic that it seems the weekend people have. It was $10 per person and we brought our lunches. We hiked all the trails for a few hours and had a great day. It was beautiful and relaxed. If you are active, the trails are no problem. If you get winded going up a flight of stairs, then don't try and climb tons of stairs. Definately bring drinks because sodas are at baseball game rates ($5 for a large). But there were plenty of tables and we brought a cooler so it cost a total of $20 plus gas. I would definately recommend this for a day trip because it was beautiful. PS. we were in a drought so the waterfalls weren't too big but regardless it is no Niagara Falls. It is a great day out in the fresh air.

“Bring realistic expectations and have some fun!”
Reviewed August 7, 2010

After reading some of the negative reviews about this attraction, i almost didn't go. I'm glad I chose to ignore them.
Firstly; this is not anyhting like Niagra Falls. Seriously people, you are in the Poconos. It is a woodland creek which flows over natural rock formations in the hills of Pennsylvania. It is simple, scenic, and serene, when not overrun by chatty tourists.
Secondly; it is a hike. Don't expect a concierge kiosk with lavender scented towels and vitamin water. Again I say...Seriously people, you are in the Poconos. The good news is there are sturdy bridges, walkways and stairs which most kids over the age of 5 can handle pretty easily. Don't even think about a stroller...this is a hike.
Thirdly; Get there early and take the red trail counter-clockwise to maximize your enjoyment and scenic potential. Bring along some water...after all, this is a hike.
Fourthly; it is worth every penny of the 10 bucks. Ask yourself what kind of junk you've spent ten bucks on in your life and compare it a couple hours of decent exercise in a scenic woodland where clear, cold water cascades over natural rock formations. There are a lot worse ways to spend 10 bucks in the Poconos.

“Great hike, even with kids”
Reviewed July 21, 2010

Had a nice hike even though the temps were in the low 90's. We read & followed advice to hike the red trail counterclockwise, which was very smart! That allowed us to go down a few very big sets of steps versus going up. Plus, doing it that way alows you to see the run and the falls on the second half of the hike. My 6 & 9 year old had no problems, just remember to take water. Beautiful setting!
