We had a couple of breakfasts here and the food and service were fine. The servings were large so we split them both mornings. It was plenty.

If you come at the rush hour, you might need to wait in line for a while, and then wait for your food for longer.
The burgers took almost half an hour to come, but they were delicious!

When I ordered chicken chowder from the menu, the server said curtly, "It's not chicken; it's clam." When I said, "Oh, I thought the menu said 'Chicken,'" he replied, "It did, but we don't serve chicken chowder." Who would have thought--clam chowder in the middle of the desert!

Menu offerings were limited. The quesadilla was loaded with wilted iceburg lettuce and just a sprinkling of the other items. We chose the cafe as we had laundry in the machine and the main dining room wasn't open; however, it opened as we left and we noted that it offered only a buffet at nearly $30/person. We'd considered reservations for another night at the Furnace Creek Inn, but our experience at the cafe extinguished any interest we had at another F.C. restaurant.

Food service is run by Xanterra, which also runs the concessions at other national parks, including the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, where I've enjoyed very good meals and good service.

Breakfast was really good and the service was really warm and welcoming. Could not remember the name of the waitress, but could not forget her wonderful smile. Their breakfast entries are pretty standard and add more value to your money when compared to the corkscrew buffet. Anyhow, their lunch menu does not have much for vegetarians and also for kids. The kids menu is not that interesting. We travelled with our 18 month old. They were out of chicken fingers and what a surprise, they did not have mac & cheese on kids menu. Overall a nice place.

Our server was great, but the food was just okay. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was adequate.
