“Every step is a scene from a geology documentary”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

Overwhelming. Magnificent. Breath-taking. You'll see some of the most diverse geologic formations in the park. Sheer rock walls, layers of salt crystals, and plenty of nooks for climbing and exploring. Pour some water onto the limestone walls and watch the color come out. Don't forget to take a guide brochure.

WARNING: Do not visit Death Valley in the summer. There's no reason to endure the inconceivably-hot temperatures. You will not enjoy the expansive, breathtaking Death Valley National Park sights if you're fighting to survive unimaginable temperatures.

“Golden It Was”

A nice hike into Golden Canyon and as I went along the trail and saw the golden color of the mountains come into view I thought that the miners in the old frontier days must have thought they had hit the BIG one!

“A short one mile hike with great views!!!”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

This is an easy worthwhile hike and you will not be disappointed. You walk through a canyon with high walls at least 50 feet overhead. It is obvious how water has influenced the dry landscape. When it comes here, there is a lot of it, and it is usually moving very rapidly and you can see how it carved through the rock. Make sure you have water with you, even on this short hike. IT GETS HOT!! I would NOT bring small children on this hike. If this helps, let me know. Thanks
