If you are in the area do not miss Robinson Preserve. Take lots of water, wear a cap, take binoculars. Lots of birds to watch out for, and great trails to walk.

While visiting nearby Anna Maria island you never get tired of the beaches there but I wanted to see some bay estuary scenery and do some birdwatching, Robinson Preserve was a good bet-
I recommend taking water - and going to the bathroom before you start...of course Sunscreen and bug spray- it is about a 3 mile loop over salt marches and goes along the bay as well- boardwalks were great - park was well maintained. Plus an outlook tower. Well marked trails, clean bathrooms and large parking lot. I had a sighting of a Baltimore Oriole - which I did not anticipate - saw plovers - great blue herons - green heron- large egrets- I would love to come back and see Roseate Spoonbills - it would also be bike friendly as well.

Beautiful scenic area for fitness or leisure.bring water and know that there are only two restrooms one on each end of the preserve. There is a tower and various trails to enjoy ,also a popular site for canoeing/kayaking.

Not that you ever really get tired of going to Anna Maria beach, but if by chance you want to see some bay estuary scenery and do some fantastic birdwatching, Robinson Preserve is a good bet. Sunscreen and bug spray applied, we started on our 3+ mile trek that traversed some salt marshes, boardwalks to the bay and even a outlook tower with great views of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. A very hot morning and since we are locals, we probably would enjoy this hike more in the fall (meaning under 80 degrees). Well marked trails, clean bathrooms and large parking lot. Winner!

Went for the first time with my kids and walked to the observation tower...one of the most gorgeous views I've seen. Great place for biking, running, and canoeing. Bring water! Loved it!
