Please do not waste your money on the tram ride ! Probably the biggest rip-off I have ever experienced !! The tram goes around the building thru a FEW trees - see 5 or 6 animals and back around to the front of the building!
!

We were looking for some activity in the Bradenton area for family with young children (5 and 2 years old). We arrived early and got the chance to play at the playground which was perfect for our 5 year old. Area was clean and enough activities to keep children busy for plenty of time. We booked the tram tour around the fruit farm. Our guide was Sandy who was informative and obviously had done this couple of times before.

The highlight of our trip was definitely the animal shelter gentleman from Wildlife Inc, Damien. He was really passionate about the animals that he had rescued for different reasons. He was pleased to answer all our questions and even allowed the bravest ones to hold a huge python named Butter.

All the people at shop were also very inviting and all the experience made it a perfect day for our family.

We went here as my stepdaughter and her fiancé are having their wedding there in 2020 ! Wedding venue is beautiful with lush gardens ,a koi pond, with waterfall all hiding this historic ,family owned, orange grove !
The store has wine tastings so you can choose from a variety of local wines for your special day or just to take home ! Lots of beachy Knick knacks for cool gifts , orange blossom honey, a little for Everyone!!
We also took a shuttle tour through the grove where they have a stop with some rescued alligators, talking parrots, pythons , and other rescued animals! The keeper was very knowledgeable and you can even touch and hold some of the animals ! Very cool!!!!
A must see wonderful place !!

Today I went with my sister-in-law went to Mixon Fruit Farms. We missed the tram ride by 30 minutes. So we thought maybe we would look around and stay for the tram ride. We walked through the store and were the only customers there. Not one of the six people working acknowledged us, even though we walked through every part of the store. We went on the self-guided tour, and all we saw was an empty warehouse. Nothing on the outside of the door saying that there was nothing going on. Next we thought we would buy some fruit. But hold on There were just a few humongous lemons. No oranges, no fruit of any other kind. No signs saying why there was no fruit. We were so disappointed. I was so looking forward to going to this Fruitfarm as I saw it back in June when I was here and wanted to go. I would not recommend this place at all.

Thank you for stopping in and posting your review. There is never any excuse for not acknowledging any customers. We pride ourselves on showing that southern hospitality to everyone as other reviews mention our friendly staff. We are open during the summer when Fruit is not in season but as you said there needs to be better signage stating when the fruit will be available. We use reviews to give pats on the back or make improvements. We appreciate your feed back and hope you return soon to try some of our delicious oranges and grapefruit that are now in season.

My sister and I thought we were just going to check out a typical citrus market in town. We’ve lived here for 20 yrs and have been to them all. But, we were so surprised how different Mixon was! We took the cart tour thru the old groves- so interesting! The tour takes you to the Wildlife, Inc. sanctuary. At that time, they had an albino boa to pet. They also had a crocodile they rescued and a bobcat. Plus they had an owl that was being rehabilitated. The interaction between the guide and the animals was priceless. A 10 min stop became an afternoon!

Got a Groupon for this tour that also included 1 ice cream cone . It was a great experience, I learned about fruits that I never knew existed. It’s a 1 hr tram-tour around the farm and you get to see some animals such as a West Nile Alligator, Python , Raccoons, etc., that have been rescued. The tour guide was pretty knowledgeable and explained everything pretty good. At the end you get an ice cream cone vanilla, orange or swirl. They have a store that has a lot of nice curiosities good for gifts. I really enjoyed everything!!!

Pros: $, activity good for kids & adults, plus you get an ice cream.

Cons:

My friend had a wedding in this location which I thought was odd, however when I got there it was beautiful and elegant. I would recommend this location for wedding and parties. The staff was in point and the area smells like lavender. This place is awesome

What a fun family event. You can take a tour of their animals, weddings, concerts are held there.

The Orange creamsical & a nice selection of quick bites. There are samples of orange juice & the other city's juices offered. You can purchase citus & can ship as well.

Their unique variety of gifts are sure to please the hard to find person. I enjoy their fresh squeezed orange juice & ice cream.

This local orange juice provider and nature park is worth coming to. Hidden away in East Bradenton, you may not know this is here. They have a tram ride through the grove and several animals to see. The ice cream is good and the juice is amazing.
