“Will definitely use both the Drury Inn again!”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

We booked the Drury Inn at the recommendation of friends we were visiting. By mistake we arrived a day early and they were able to give us the same rate as our reservation and extend it for 2 days instead of 1. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The pool is a little on the small side. Our only complaint was on our second day we stayed in the room late due to not sleeping well the night before (not from noise or uncomfortable accomadations just a little travelers insomnia). So when we left the room we let the house keeper know that she could clean and make up the room. When we got back we discovered that she never came in. We had to get fresh towels from the front desk. We enjoyed both the breakfast as well as the 5:30 kick back. When we checked out we mentioned to the front desk clerk that we were a little disappointed with the house keeper not doing the room. The front desk clerk went above what and beyond what we expected to make sure that we were fully satisfied!!

Overall a very nice hotel and I would stay here again.

Pros:
1) Evening meal had a wide variety of items to choose from and the food was good for a hotel.
2) Each adult gets up to three free alcoholic drinks at the evening meal.
3) Very good hot breakfast in the morning with a wide variety of food.
4) Freindly staff at the check-in counter.
5) Hotel is near to a wide variety of restaraunts and stores.
6) Very clean room and larger than most hotel rooms.
7) Free soda in the dining area (at least until 10 PM, maybe all night, not sure).
8) Kids loved the indoor/outdoor swimming pool.

Cons:
1) The hotel advertises free popcorn in the dining area until 10 PM. The staff did lousy job of keeping popcorn in the machine. Every time we went down to get some popcorn the machine was empty. They would occasionally make another batch, but not at the rate they should have to keep up with the people wanting popcorn.
2) The line in the dining area to get alcoholic drinks was long. This is a large hotel, with a lot of people taking advantage of the dinner. There should have been more staff available to help out. A couple times they had two people serving at the bar, but most of the time it was just one.

This hotel is also recommended by Dave Hunter (author of book along the I75 and that's why we stayed there :-)) and boy he was right!! Clean rooms, friendly staff, good food and above all a good price!! We can recommend this hotel to anyone. If we are ever in that area again we will defenitely go back there.

This was our 3rd visit to the Drury Inn at this location (and we only live 20 minutes away) for a night away from home... and again pleased with our experience.

Check in is simple... although initially disappointed our room reserved online was not available, a king non-smoking room, and was going to be given a queen smoking room instead... This disappointment was quickly taken away when told Drury had already issued a 50% discount due to this... (ok, I can deal to save the money, we spend our time at the pool, at kick-back, and walking to the local bars, lol).

We had just walked into our discounted room and the phone rings, with the front desk advising us we could move to our originally booked room and KEEP the discounted rate. That is what I call customer service.

We got the keys and were in our bathing suits and heading to kick-back within minutes (a point the front desk made sure we were able to get to, another example of their customer service) then pool side for a fun and relaxing couple of hours.

Enjoyed some typical bar type snacks and adult beverages, as well as the breakfast the following morning. I do not get the complaints I have read... This is all included in your nights stay which makes it such a GREAT deal!

I adore the Drury hotle chain. Their perks are second to none. I travel for my job and have been doing so for the last five years.

This was the FIRST time I have ever encountered bed bugs.

The manager was nice about, couldn't refute it as I wrapped it in tissue and took it to the front desk. I was given a refund for my room and moved to a suite - which was an upgrade.

Didnt sleep much that night as I was convinced there were bugs in THAT room, even though I couldnt find any. I am a bug freak. I WONT be returning to this hotel.

Overall the stay at the Drury in Dayton was excellent.

First of all it is conveiniently located right off the I-75 so it was very easy to find after a long day of driving.

Check-in was a breeze and the staff were all very helpful with various questions I asked about the area, things to do, places to eat etc.

Speaking of eating though, the free appetizers in the evening are great! As one staff said to me at one point "it may not be steak and shrimp, but its free!". Although most of the food isn't fancy, there is more than enough for people to find something they would like. It would rotate each day so there would be some variety. Items included hot dogs, baked potatoes, chicken fingers, boneless chicken wings, mac&cheese, soup, salad, chips, pretzels, popcorn, celery/carrot sticks, nachos (with cheese, salsa, jalepenos, ground beef and refried beans).
In addition to that you get 3 free drinks per night (per adult in the room), not a ton of selection of choices of drinks, but again, they are free so one can't complain.

The free breakfast in the morning was good as well, again lots of choices and variety.

Free internet in the room was great as well, no problems with it being slow or problems connecting.

The rooms themselves are a little dated in their decor, but the TV was an LCD and the beds were comfortable, so that really didn't bother me.

The indoor outdoor pool was also a nice touch to take a dip in after a long day at the office. Best time to hit up the pool is 5:30pm, right when they are starting the apps and drinks. The pool is very quiet for about 45 minutes before it becomes too crowded with kids.

Overall, considering we paid $85 a night, between the drinks, dinners and breakfast the place was a great deal! We ended up joining their Gold Key program as we know we will be coming back!

What's not to love? Hot meals, free drinks (3 per adult each evening), easy access from the interstate, immaculately clean rooms and gathering spaces. Hotel is very close to lots of restaurants, a gas station, and Wal-Mart. Beds were comfortable too. A winner!
