Description: Toxic Brew Co is Dayton's first brewery to open in 52 years. We produce a variety of craft beers, but we have a preference for high-gravity and Belgian inspired creations.

This brewery gets all of their large variety of beers right but we especially like their Belgian brews. There is also a nice spectrum of levels of alcoholic content. We like to take a high test growler home to get safely soused!

Since I was there last summer there are seven more beers on tap and the whole building and atmosphere has matured into a local hot spot where the 30 something mature adult would want to go and meet people.
Only place in town with a free to use full size shuffleboard table.
The beer is great and at a very reasonable price for a Brew Pub. My favorite was the Abby's Cure. Be careful it is strong.

Toxic Brew is an historical brewery in the city of Dayton. I say that because when it opened in 2013, it became the first brewery/brewpub within the city limits in more than half a century. It took time, effort, and patience, but Toxic Brew is now open for business in Dayton’s Oregon District.

Besides its place in the Dayton history books, Toxic Brew is good for another reason: Its beer. The brewery features some unusual brews that are unlike those offered at most breweries and brewpubs. Many of the ones I tried were fuller in body and a little less smooth than those offered at other establishments. But the lack of smoothness in no way means the beer isn’t tasty and drinkable, as it most certainly is. There were about ten different beers on tap when I visited and each had its own personality and interesting attributes.

Some brewpubs offer sample glasses and pints, but nothing more. Toxic Brew has different size options- 4 oz., 8 oz., and 16 oz.- which is great because it means I can get as much as I want without worry. I like to try several different beers when I visit a brewpub and the 4 oz. size is just right for that purpose. If I have already sampled and want to settle in on a couple of favorites, the 8 oz. size is just right for that. Options are always good and it’s nice that Toxic Brew offers so many.

Classic rock music plays in the background at Toxic Brew, but it’s not loud so you can easily carry on a conversation with the person next to you without having to yell. The atmosphere is very casual and laid back, the bartenders are friendly, and the establishment has a shuffleboard for your entertainment and a popcorn machine if you need a snack. It would be great if Toxic Brew had its own kitchen and it might have one in the future. But for now, all you can do is order carryout food from other places in the area.

Craft beer is booming across the country and Toxic Brew is a nice addition to the Dayton beer scene. I recommend stopping by and sampling the interesting beers. They are different from other breweries/brewpubs and with the wide variety, there is bound to be some you like. Sit back, relax, and enjoy some beer at this, Dayton’s first brewpub in more than 50 years.

If you have a taste for unusual, high gravity craft beer this is the mother load in Dayton. The first brewery in Dayton in 52 years and has become a local beer landmark in just a few months since opening. I visited when they only had ten different of their own Toxic brews on tap. Of the four I sampled I was particularly impressed with the Porn and Pawn pepper, the name is a story in itself, ask Shane the owner for the details, but all the flavors I tried were unique and could never be compared to a Miller light. If you want food you can order delivery to come in or you can bring your own food. This Pub is about tasting the beer made in house and having a good time.
They also have a full size shuffleboard table available to play on that I have not seen in a bar in years. If you are near Dayton this little pub is worth visiting. Check the website for the hours as it does not keep the long hours a local watering hole might keep.

The Toxic Brew Company is still relatively new. It just opened this year towards the end of June. I was here with some friends on a Saturday night to enjoy some good beer. The beer list is fun because you can get the beer in a 4oz, 8oz, or pint-sized glass. The 4 oz was great because it was only $2 and I was able to try a lot of their different brews. I tend to like lighter beers so the Abby Blonde, a light Belgian beer, was my favorite. All of their beers are excellent, though! The service was great-the bartenders were quick and attentive.

What added to the great beer was the relaxed atmosphere. There was not loud music so I could easily carry on a conversation with everyone at my table. The croud at the bar consisted of late 20 somethings and early 30 somethings instead of the college croud that a lot of bars in the Oregon District attract. Other great features of the brewery are the popcorn machine where anyone can help themselves to popcorn, the large glass window which allows customers inside the brewery to view the brewing machinery, and the shuffleboard table.
