I've gone here for years but usually to get something unusual or extra good if we're having company for dinner. Their meats are fantastic, they have a huge variety of quality cheeses and fresh vegetables. Their deli has lots of freshly made side dishes, like pasta salads and rice dishes. They have great breads and rolls. The service is first rate. And their decadent Killer Brownies can't be beat.

Kidding... they do have a lot of good samples on the weekends. Pricey, but sometimes worth it. Bakery cannot be beat, and reasonable , meat dept. very good for special occasions, the only place to get a good Lamb cut, but you are going to pay for it. Nice music and pleasant to visit, no graeters ice cream though. I use it for specialty items then use walmart for the common stuff...a can of Bushes baked beans are the same at any price...you know what I mean...

DLM has a huge selection of prepared foods. In addition, you can choose your steak and they will cook it for you. It's all good, but the prices are extremely high. I'd rather go to a nice restaurant that has some ambiance as well as good food.

I was introduced to Dorothy Lane Market some 53 years ago when there was but one but still in the same location! It has a unique "flow" of traffic with long rows that funnel in to the narrower check-out lanes. There is a separate bakery area near the entry door and their bakes goods are fresh and delicious.
They also carry unique items such as Pine Club salad dressing, which is very different from any other salad dressing and very tasty. Parking is easy and staff is very helpful.

Dorothy Lane is the best grocery store in Dayton. It has a great selection prepared food and lunch items. It has a nice seating area to eat. For groceries, it has a lot of find to hard items, great meat and seafood selection. If you want to find a good wine they have it.
