“Worth a trip once in a while”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

Nothing spectacular, but it is nice to have in the area for the occasional visit. I would consider funding it simply to keep the arts in the area.

“Enjoyable, interesting”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

The Dayton Art Institute has been a big asset of the town but not viewed by a a large part of the population for many years. Wonderful art for a city this size and recent great attempts to make it a place for gathering for a variety of people- the cafe is being redone and will open soon with a trendy wine bar. The building is very beautiful.

“Not bad”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

It's a good museum for those who wants to check out the local art museum. I feel that the hours are not condusive to those who want to visit at a later time, however, the museum is run by volunteers.

“Catch the special displays”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

The museum is a bheautiful building but unlass you lean toward modern art, which I don't the displays have something to be desired. If you catch one of their special displays like King Tut or Norman Rockwell then paradise is definitely on your side.

“Pieces from the Masters and other interesting works.”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Pieces are well displayed and well identified. Our docent was well-informed, not just about the individual items, but the development of art from the 1300s to the present, allowing her to compare and contrast the different paintings. One of the most unique paintings is a Rubens of an old man that has his image painted twice on the canvas.
