The park was very beautiful. It was interesting to be able to see where settlers crossed the Cumberland Gap. When you walked to the top of the point you were standing in 3 states.

Nice trails. Nice buildings. Clean rest rooms. Narrow roads. Fantastic views! Info center closed too early at 5pm.

This is the area in which I live in and I love it here. I have traveled all over in my life and there is no where else i would rather than be.

Clean mountain air, excellent hiking trails, a restful and quiet campground at Wilderness Road. We enjoyed the historical displays and exhibits. The Gap Cave tour is a must do! Ranger Jarrod was an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed seeing the bison in the park. An excellent destination for hikers. A few caveats for this one, it is located in a "dry" county in Kentucky, so BYOB. Also, many local establishments seem to be closed on Mondays, so later in the week may be better.

They are really working hard to restore this area to its original historical roots. A great place to exercise and throw yourself into history! Be sure to check out the visitor center!!
