The diorama and the artifacts serve to bring the history of this place alive. Great place to take young people to give them a feel of one of the events which was key to freeing our nation from a tyrannical English King.

Stopped here in the middle of a long road trip. Facilities and museum were really nice. We didn't have enough time to walk, but we did drive around the battlefield and that was nice. It was interesting to see a battlefield from the revolutionary war (usually we see civil war sites). I'd recommend it, it's small and doesn't take too long to go through.

The displays were descriptive without distracting from the mental imagery one can have about the battle being described. Walking the trail puts it in perspective that electronic media cannot.

The National Battlefield Memorial at Cowpens is on the site of the encounter between the notorious British commander Banastre Tarleton and patriot forces under Daniel Morgan on the morning of Jan 17, 1781.
The visitor center has a well done AV production that should be seen first. The loop drive was minimally embellished and added very little to the understanding of the events of the day.

This is a nice place to walk and take in what happened during the Revolutionary War. The walking trail is informative and the museum has great exhibits. There is also a short film explaining what happened at Cowpens.
