We stayed two nights in the well located Comfort Suites in Fruita, Colorado, in order to hike in Colorado National Monument. The hotel itself and particularly our room had a strange odor. Our room was out of toilet paper when we checked in. There is a feeling that the hotel is old but has been mostly remodeled.
Breakfast had limited seating (about 20 people max?), comprised of cold food (no hot eggs or anything or that sort, except waffles). The breakfast room was quite a bit more crowded than breakfasts we're accustomed to at this level and cost of hotel.
The front desk was quite helpful, and the pool and hot tub were operational and clean. There is a Mexican restaurant next door we found to be quite good as well.
For the cost, I think we will probably look around to try find a different hotel the next time we stay in Fruita.
