Good food and great atmosphere. Still supposed to be a ghost in the building and that is fun. Read the information on the history of the Carrot Tree.

This gem closed the end of 2013 but may reopen nearby. It's sister restaurant with the same name is still open on Jamestown Road near Williamsburg. It features sandwiches and great baked goods.

The Carrot Tree was a nice place for a quiet lunch. It is now closed due to lease agreement problems with the US Park Service. They plan to open up again in Yorktown at the Watermens Museum which is on the waterfront

Carrot Tree is no longer in the historic home on Main St. An agreement to renew the lease could not be reached with the Park Service. It will be re-opening in the Carriage House of the Watermans Museum on Water St. The food is prepared at another location and brought to Yorktown, so the menu is limited to dishes that lend themselves to those conditions. If you do not require china, crystal and sizzling entrees, you will like it; and the new location is right on the river. When in doubt, order Brunswick stew, ham biscuits and carrot cake. The week the restaurant defied the government shut down, lines formed in support.

such a neat little historic spot, inside of a house built in the 1800's. Nice to meet for lunch, very cozy, too bad the Bureaucrats caused them so many headaches that they closed up.
