“Fun beach on the river and a few shops”
Review of Riverwalk Landing

The Riverwalk is a beautiful setting and has a great beach, but don't come for the shops or dining alone. There are only a few shops with nothing really unique or that make it worth going out of your way. The beach is the most unique attraction, as it is a very nice sandy beach on a river with schooner tours if that is an interest for you. The walkway along the beach and the shops is a very nice way to take a walk. Overall it is worth a visit, just not for the shopping, which they "oversell" in the tourist ads .

Came here twice, liked the fact that it wasn't too sprawled out, couple of little shops with a hotel and a few restaurants, I can see why people are misled about the size, but I was quite pleased that it was easy to walk around. We got the free trolley shuttle to have a look around the area. Went to the Yorktown Pub, really good food.

This is a wonderful place for family entertainment. There's lots to see and do with the beach and restaurants. Also, a great place for photo shoots.

We've been stopping at the Riverwalk for the last several years and while it is a very scenic location, beautifully executed and even has a small beach, there's not much else to capture interest. The shops do not seem to last more than a season. There is ample parking so it's a nice place to start exploring the town. There are several options for food and drinks. Just wish there was more.

The advertising made it seem like this was a busy center with lots going on. We went at 11 am, but most everything was still closed. It is a very small and modern riverfront development. The town itself is very beautiful with a number of well maintained historic buildings and home.
There is a small beach, but it got crowed very quickly. The U.S. Coast Guard training center is nearby and so it was interesting to watch the coast guard vessels do practice drill. We did also enjoy a lovely sail on the Schooner Alliance and cost $35 per adult, very reasonable. We would recommend this it was a slow paced sail along the York River which was very educational.
