We had never heard of this park before visiting, but are glad we did. Lots of trails. The rock formations defy logic. Literally looked like they were stacked by giants and have been stuck in place for a million years. Massai Point is worth going to; great vistas and there are hiking trails from there if you like. We also stopped at the former Faraway Ranch near the entrance for a guided tour from a wonderful volunteer. The history of how this became a monument and the family were fascinating if you have the time.

“One of favorite parks in the sw usa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

This park is definitely a must see if you are travelling is s.e. ariz. We travelled here from benson az by car and its only aprox 1 hour. Plenty of picnic, washrooms and parking areas. Many areas to pull of and go on short to long hikes. A photographers dream as their are many different land formations.

“Fabulous Trails”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Although a little bit out of the way, worth the 2-hour drive from Tucson. The vista point is impressive and informative, but you can only experience the beauty of the park by hiking the trails through the rock formations. The hikes are generally moderate and please take a camera.

“Echo Canyon Loop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

A great place to visit and hike, Echo Canyon Loop is only one of the totally amazing hikes. Although going up and down, the hike is not difficult and the path is well marked. There is a fee to visit the monument; however, as Seniors a one time very reasonable payment gives us unrestricted future use.The visitors center has lots of information and maps on other hikes.

“Absolutely gorgeous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

had wonderful time. We hicked Echo Canyon in the evening. A pretty easy quick hike and gorgeous with the sun going down. We then hiked Massai Point to the visitor center the next day. About 8 miles will the side trips. It was a great trip. I wouldn't say easy, but not to bad. Start early and take your time to look around. So beautiful. We also toured the Faraway Ranch. What history and a must if you can do the tour. FABULOUS! It is the reason Chricahua became a national park so important to find the history. Loved it. I am anxious to go back and explore some more. We did not have enough time.
