We picked the Holiday Inn Express at random when we were virtually blown off of I-10 into Willcox by a storm (we were intending to stay in Tucson). We typically stay in independent hotels, so this was my Australian partner's first stay in an American chain hotel and I was hoping she wouldn't be put off. The Holiday Inn Express turned out to be a great choice - the desk clerk was friendly, the rate was resonable, the room was clean and comfortable (with nice bedding rather than those natty bedspreads you sometimes get in budget motels), the breakfast was ample and we felt refreshed for our drive to Phoenix the next day. Our only complaint is that we would have liked to heat up some soup and popcorn when we arrived, but there was no microwave (or refrigerator, though we didn't need one) available. Even so, I would dfeinitely stay here again if I ever need a place to stay in Willcox in the future.

Best stop on our trip, very friendly front staff, woman at breakfast VERY helpful, always smiling, cleaning, good free breakfast. Very new hotel, clean, comfortable, etc. JUst stay here if you are in the area. One complaint is no Fridge/mWave in rooms unless you get a suite, not sure why they skipped that!

My friend and I stayed only a short overnight. Brand new hotels are so nice compared to the tired old ones. Check in was fast, nice staff. The beds were comfortable, a light comforter on top covered by sheets, pillow selection of soft or firm, 4 on each bed. No microwave or fridge but everything else you expect. Our room had two queen beds and a small desk. We had a great view of the desert. The A/C worked well but we weren't able to get a constant steady flow that we would have preferred, the unit would cool the room down then click off until needed to cool again. We had a lot of electronic gadgets with us and found plenty of outlets in easy access. Coffee maker in the bathroom, nice shower head with adjustable stream, plenty of towels. The ice-maker down the hall on the same floor produced well. Breakfast was eggs, bacon, cereals, breads, juices, fruits, coffees, teas. It was a nice stay for a decent price.

We stayed two nights for a family event and hiking in the Chiricahuas. Upon making reservations I asked for a room on the back side away from the freeway not knowing that a very busy truck stop is right across the street much closer and noisier than the freeway. So if you want quiet, ask for a room away from the truck stop! We reserved a N/S king but got two queens instead. Although the room was non-smoking, the hallway smelled very heavily of cigarette smoke. Check in was quick and efficient. The lobby and breakfast room were very nice. The elevator was fairly slow. The room was very large with a good sized, nice granite bathroom. Since it is a newer place, it was very clean although there were cup/water rings on the bathroom counter. Good, thick towels, very comfortable bed (the second best I've ever slept on in a hotel!) and crisp bedding. Large TV with a good selection of channels. And easily accessed wireless internet. We were disappointed in the breakfast. Yes, it had the standard stuff, but nothing great. Bacon was very greasy, swimming in grease and not crisp, the cinnamon roll was good but very, very sweet. I was disappointed that there was no microwave to be found, not even in the breakfast room. I wanted to heat milk for my own Mocha but was out of luck. I was kind of surprised one wasn't available anywhere. The swimming pool was clean in spite of the very windy conditions although there is little privacy with the truck stop driveway right across from the pool. Willcox may have little to offer for adventure, but we were surprised by the Chiricahuas National Monument. It was a beautiful little park to visit and although we didn't get to hike all the trails, we saw enough that we were glad we made the 40 mile or so drive and would definitely visit again. As for the hotel, yes, we would stay here again but would be more specific when making my reservation and would skip the free breakfast.

The Holiday Inn express in Willcox is the best place you'll find within miles. Best stop bewteen Las Cruces and Tucson. A new hotel with commodities of a high standard. Rooms are large, with modern furniture, nice large tv. Prefect bedding. Bathroom is also fine.
Hotel is on the edge of town, near interstate and large truckstop.
Hotels swimming-pool is situated on the west-side of the building directly overlooking the truckstop. Can be noisy at times

This Hotel looks, and should be, the best Hotel for miles but it lets itself down on a number of levels. It is only 8 Months old and therefore the decorative standard of the rooms was excellent. However, ther was no fridge and no Microwave? Things that we have come to expect in Motels at half the price. It also needed minor maintainence. The toilet seat was loose and the shower head needed cleaning/replacing as it shot water out in all directions. Minor things that the cleaning staff should have identified!

Breakfast looked great, with an excellent choice and quantities of everything however my Engish Muffin and my wifes Bagel were both stale. Quantity not quality seemed to prevail.

The service at reception was poor with very disinterested staff and this attitude seemed to permeate through all the staff that we encountered. I was asked with a cheery smile if my stay had been perfect but this changed to a defensive scowl when I mentioned the stale breakfast and asked if they could carry out the routine maintainence before the next guest used the room. Chain hotel indifference perhaps?

All in all, very nice accomodation but needs better management!!

We stayed 2 nights whilst on a hiking trip to the Chiricahuas and had a very pleasant stay - friendly staff, quiet room, comfortable bed & pillows, big fluffy towels. I thought the shampoo was a bit watery, but that's being really picky! Breakfast was a good mix with cereal, sausage & biscuits, omelettes, bacon strips one day, hard-boiled eggs, mini-muffins, yogurts, toast, bagels, OJ, coffee etc etc. - no need to go to McD's. Computers for getting email in lobby area were new and fast and clean.
Our GPS sent us the wrong way off the highway, but if we'd used our eyes we would easily have seen the hotel.
The Mexican restaurant "Salsa Fiesta" is just across the highway on the other side of the bridge.
