Interesting place, located right next to the park entrance. We stayed in a room in the bathouse over thanksgiving. In the bathhouse, the toilets in the rooms were just that, toilets in the rooms, with a folding divider between them and the room. We didn't expect this. The real restrooms and showers were shared, and downstairs. The downstairs lounge area was well decorated, with some facinating tidbits of local history scattered around, as well as a number of musical instruments we were encouraged to use if able. The cabin we looked had much newer furnishings, with TV and real bathroom, and one large room with kitchen and large living area. It looked like a good place to use as a base camp to enjoy the park for a week or so. Breakfast was really quite nice, with an egg and potato hash, panckakes, fruit, and juices. There were beach-cruiser style bicycles for use in touring the NRA, and a large outdoor area with a fire pit that would have been nice to use in some month other than November.
If you're coming to Sulphur to enjoy being outdoors at the park, I'd recommend the Inn, certainly the cottages. if you're coming here expecting the Seven Gables Inn in Monterey or some other high-falutin' bed and breakfast, well, this just ain't it.More
