Our visit to Chickamauga battlefields was an experience that will stay with us forever. Reading about the Civil War really did not prepare us for the emotional impact this experience had on us. The historic attraction allowed us to drive between the different monuments and we were able to learn more about the history using our mobile phone to listen to audio information. The area is vast and the monuments are many. Of greatest impact was the realization that the two sides often ere within sight of each other as they battled.

This battlefield is one of the best done sites I have visited. It portrays the union and confederate perspectives well and the car tour is well planned. The landscape is beautiful which adds to the experience. The site does a nice job representing the importance of its terrain to military strategy during the war. There are hiking trails throughout the park that allow one to really feel what it was like for the soldiers during the battle.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this historic battlefield. Museum was good...quite a collection of guns...the video was very informative. Well worth the visit especially if you are interested in the history of our country.

This was free. The information is not over a big area but it is excellently presented. A nice video is shown which shows why the battle was so important and there is a excellent gun area. The staff were nice and I bought a lovely comprehensive book at the store. I drove around the battlefield itself but unless you were sure where you were stopping off it is best to keep going!

My family and I enjoy going to the battlefield and walking on the trails as well as having picnics. Great place to just get out and get some fresh air
