Had a very pleasant stay at the Vagabond while in Ventura this weekend. Randi (front desk) was extremely helpful, the rooms were well-maintained, and there were a plethora of restaurants in close range. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Ventura.

The Desk Manager, Jenny is loved by everyone and there is a sense whatever the need it will get done perfectly - never have I seen her upset nor irritated - she is patient and listens and makes a point of serving the guests with a pleasant smile - who would not like her. .The General Manager is extraordinary and is there johnny on the spot to attend to any exceptional needs both for the guests and support of the staff - HouseKeepijng is extraordinary as they all care - all of the staff is Excellent and works at pleasing the visitors.- Great place to stay!

Room Tip: I like the second floor but that is my opinion - have had both levels - Like to look out above all -

Staff polite and helpful. 'Continental breakfast' not what you'd get on the continent but ok. Room was basic, large, clean and comfortable. Easy access to beach, pier, town and motorway.
Has a swimming pool and spa but it was too cold for swimming whilst we were there and the spa was broken.

Not impressed with front desk or house keeping. But I can put that all aside for a clean room and comfy bed. The floors in our room were stained everywhere!! We didn't want to take our shoes off. And the curtains looked straight from a circus with dead bugs hanging from them. There were people cussing, smoking right outside my room, babies crying, car alarms going off. Apparently also a train track and auto racing Very close! I know u shouldn't do a review according to other guests but I'm pretty sure they are living here. If u need a cheap place to sleep.. bring ear plugs and make sure the door is double locked!

Nothing for yuppies and people who want to travel in style, but a decent, old-fashioned motel in walking distance to the pier and most restaurants. They are renovating fast.
Next-door is a perfect, 60s Diner like it used to be 50 years ago. Classic American food.

Room Tip: In the middle of Ventura downtown, just 5 min. to the Pier
