We stayed here as an alternative to the more expensive hotels in Santa Barbara (and to visit Ventura as well) and it was a great hotel. Friendly, helpful people, a couple of restaurants nearby and the main street also within walking distance. Place was clean. We would stay again. Ventura was a nice visit. Hotel has a great policy regarding noisy neighbours. V impressed.

Dashed up to Ventura early August 2011 for boyfriend's 50th and stayed here...everything was very clean, great condition (rooms have been nicely upgraded), calm...we also got upgraded (for my bf's 50th) to a jaccuzzi suite for our midweek $90 room price, and that made the whole stay just ideal. That tub is awesome...plenty of room for 2, 1 can almost go swimming. King bed very comfy. Only drawback is tub surrounded by tiles and a bit awkward to use the tile surround to get out and had I been more drunk I might have slipped, but didn't! Outside jacuzzi also better than I thought as pool area in the parking lot, but midweek was super calm and quiet, even in summer...tons of wind, almost too much, but overall wind was refreshing, esp after LA smog. Walking distance to quaint downtown, beach. Staff great, esp Wesley! We'll be back when we can next scratch up the 90 bucks...

Room Tip: asking when you check in if you're in a slow season for jaccuzzi suite for a slight bump in price.

I have stayed there twice in the last month and each time my stay was excellent. The staff was kind, courteous and helpful. Rooms were clean and fairly priced. Their continental breakfast was more than you would usually see on a continental breakfast. The staff also was kind enough to accomodate me with the specific rooms I requested even though they were sold out. I've stayed at an expensive hotel down the street recently because this hotel was sold out and the stay was awful. So its is not always "You get what you pay for." The rooms had newer bathrooms and very comfortable mattresses. Short distance from beach not even half a mile.:))

The motel is very clean, enough space and it seems safe. But.. make sure you get a room near the reception. Because on the backside you almost think the train runs into your room...It keeps on honking. The highway is also on the backside. When the train passes the whole room was shaking a bit.
Breakfast is very nice, they had a lot of choice for a motel.

We would recommend this motel, but just make sure you wear earplugs or get a room near the reception (on the front of the property)

Ventura is just boring. Make sure you'll stay here just for one or two nights on your roadtrip.

The staff was polite and efficient, the room was clean and the rate was reasonable. However, the noise level was quite a surprise! We were yards from the railroad tracks (trains ran during the day and night) and a few more yards from busy Hwy 101. If you are a very heavy sleeper or bring ear plugs you might be fine, but we never would have stayed here had we known how loud the traffic was going to be.
