Description: We are a casual seafood house that is located right on the dock in the Ventura & Santa Barbara Harbor. You'll find a bustling scene of fisherman, young professionals and sand-sprinkled beach-goers nearly every night of the week at these true-blue waterfront institution. Dungeness crab cocktail, oysters on the half-shell and fried shrimp round out the "small" menu offerings. Fresh fish specials, such as grilled white sea bass from local waters, mahi mahi dusted in Cajun spices and pan-blackened local yellowtail, are highlights on the "long" menu. No matter what, libations are always in order at this locals' favorite gathering place. Everyone is welcome at Brophy's, hope to see you soon.

“What a find!!!”

Passing through Ventura on a road trip, we were pointed in the Brophy Bros direction by another local shopkeeper. We weree not dissapointed. Great atmoshpere, found a tabe quickly although the place was bursting. The food was absolutely fresh, and very tasty. When the tab came we were pleasantly surprised how reasonable. If in Ventura, go to Brophys Bos !!!

“Great views, atmosphere, food and drinks!”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

The bar fills up quickly during happy hour, but they take the screens off the windows on the outside part so there is standing room to still get bar service. Amazing bloody marys. Had the beer boiled shrimp for appetizer, what a great dish thats different. The cioppino was absolutely AMAZING. The view and breeze from the harbor complete the experience! Would definitely return.

“Fun Place-Great Location-So so shellfish”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

If you want a great view of the Ventura Harbor while you drink or dine, here is another option. I recommend going for Happy Hour which is Monday through Friday at 3pm. and goes to 7pm. Happy hour is only served at the bar and the seats fill up fast after 3pm. By 4pm. you will have to wait for someone to leave. My experience here is that the Fresh Fish is good, but a lot of the shell fish isn't. I ordered the Hot Combo. The Beer Boiled Shrimp were ok but small and needed hand pealing. Both the Garlic Baked Clams and Oyster Rockefeller had lots of breading, not what I like. The Oysters Rockefeller were the best of everything on the plate. The Steamed Mussels (green lipped from New Zealand which should have been good) were too long out of the water and tough. The Steamed Clams were also tough. Stick with some of the local favorites such as the Bowl of New England Clam Chowder or The Fish and Chips. The house dinner salad is good also. Add that to cheaper mixed drinks and have fun at this great location!

“After 100+ times....I still love it”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

I have been a regular at Brophys in Santa Barbara for 20+ years. So was excited when they opened one in Ventura. The view is unparalleled, so gorgeous and a big patio. I always get the same thing, I know....but if it's not broke..... :) Beer battered fried shrimp. The house salad dressing alone is worth going there! Never had a less than stellar server. Just a fabulous place.

“Great View! Great Value! Great Food!”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

Brophy Bros. Clam Bar and Restaurant in Ventura Harbor Village is a great place for lunch or an early dinner if you’d like to gaze at the harbor and the hills while you eat. The terrace, with a glass windscreen, protects you from the sea breeze without obscuring the view. We timed our arrival to be there for a spectacular summer sunset. Of course, you can eat later, too, but the view disappears with the sun. There is also seating inside.

Brophy Bros. is known for its wonderful seafood. I enjoyed swordfish, while my husband, who doesn’t care for fish at all, raved about his cheeseburger. (It did look very tasty!) Prices were very reasonable for this caliber of restaurant. The hamburger plate, including fries and coleslaw, was $9.95. My swordfish dinner was $22.95.

The service was prompt and attentive, and it was, overall, a very satisfying experience. We look forward to eating there again.
