Description: On the water's edge in beautiful Ventura Harbor, The Greek Mediterranean Steak & Seafood offers a family owned and operated "dining experience" rather than just a meal. As close to the Mediterranean you might find in the states, many liken it to stepping onto the Island of Santorini, Greece. Enjoy even more food variety with all new menus with fabulous food photography (along with a name change). Open daily at 11 am for lunch and 4pm for dinner, as well as breakfast on Saturday & Sundays 8:30am-11am. The Greek is a great location for family and business gatherings with harbor-side activities most weekends. A recent focus on 3-5 daily selections of fresh and local seafood and produce with house specialties makes the Greek a healthy and eat local favorite. Authentic Mediterranean dishes are prepared daily with family island recipes. Saganaki flaming kefalograviera cheese is fired up tableside either inside or on waterfront patio tables. One of the owners hails from Texas so you will find Porterhouse, ribeye and filet mignon steaks on the menu as well. Hard to please the kids? They request to go to the "dancing restaurant" where it is ok to have fun with a kid's menu and activity sheet. Weekend belly dancing, Greek Dance Shows, Demetri's flips and acrobatics and Aris' famous Table Dance will amaze and delight the entire family. Join in the fun with some quick lessons and you too can become "Greek for the Day". First time guests often come as a 2, then share their experience with fiends, returning soon as a 10!! The Greek specializes in parties from 20-50 and a variety of group menu selections are available on our website. Inside seating capacity is 150 and patio capacity is 125. Holiday Group Parties include free entertainment and decorations. Groups can also book during the Parade of Lights weekend Boat Parade in December, subject to availability. Reservations are recommended and available online or by calling the restaurant. Full Bar Service inside and on the waterfront Santorini Bar & Lounge.

The Ventura Harbor needs a facelift as do the properties inside the harbor. Visiting the harbor always seems like a great idea until you get there. It's usually empty unless there is an event, probably because the shops and eateries look as rundown as the harbor itself. The place just looks tired, so when deciding where to go to eat we usually skip over the harbor. We decided to give Greek At The Harbor a try, even though it was empty on a Saturday night. We were one of 4 parties in the entire place. The service was friendly and pretty good. The place itself is SO rundown, cheap plastic chairs and tacky mismatched art in the outdoor area. Inside the decor is bad Greek theme park. Actually most Greek eateries seem to have tacky decor but this was tacky and run down. It's a shame because the food was surprisingly good. We eat a lot of Greek food and expected GATH to be a let down but it was not. We would go back, but it would not be a place we would go with company or with clients it's just to tired looking. If the Greek got a makeover it could be great because the good is very good.

Authentic Greek food, that what I came looking for and that is just what I found here. The Gyros were the real thing, not previous frozen leather strips. The Loukanikas (spelling?) Greek sausages with onions and peppers, were tasty, indeed!

Pleasant atmosphere for lunch, nice harbor views and a great place to stroll after lunch is done.

The food was well prepared and presented, tasty and hot. The service could not have been better, very attentive staff. The prices were casual dining range and the temp was comfortable.

Can't wait to visit one Friday or Saturday night when they have live entertainment after 7 PM and at 8:30 PM , I'd check on this, my memory isn't what it used to be, they may have it on Thursday as well.

All in all, glad I took a chance after seeing this on the T.V., a new place to add to our favorite restaurants list. I will definitely be back.

I realize that The Greek Restaurant is located in a tourist area but should that mean the prices need to be outrageously expensive? The food is good but $15.00 for a Gyro? I do love the location (The Ventura Marina) and the entertainment that The Greek offers.
