The bakery is excellent and often overlooked. The selection is small, the pastry counter is off to the side where it's not directly visible, and they don't publicize it hardly at all. But there's always something chocolate or something cream-filled or some other kind of pastry goodie that's as good as I've ever tasted. Always fresh; maybe that's why the selection is small.
The owner is also the baker. He's French and he's modest and he's quiet, so he's not a salesman. He feels, I guess, that the excellent goods speak for themselves.
So here are some suggestions: At least take a look at the bakery, and don't be put off because it's small. After dinner, consider a dessert, even if you usually don't even think about one; if you're going to blow your diet, this is the time and place.
