If you like deep fried stuff, this is the place for you. Fresh ingredients, fresh oil = good quality and good prices.

You can ask to have the fish/seafood pan fried or grilled... but you have to ask and it will take longer.

This is basically a fast-food type place- order at the counter, grab a table & utensils and food is brought on a plastic tray and paper plates & paper fry trays.

Anyone visiting Ventura should stop for lunch at this place. The calamari is fresh off the boats (docked right outside the restaurant's patio), and the atmosphere is lively and fun. The 5 star rating is more for the experience than anything. We are often amused by the dive bombing seagulls that perch over the patio. We saw one dive right into a guy's bowl of clam chowder when he left it on the table unattended (of course we told him upon return!!). Being from Chicago, we soak up the atmosphere of Andria's and know you won't find this kind of place anywhere else. My husband and I absolutely crave a visit and make a beeline to Andria's as soon as we arrive in town.

After reading the reviews I was looking forward to a good bowl of clam chowder. Not so much.... Also had the cod and chips. Kinda greasy. The char broiled cod burger was good tho. Nice view of the harbor, also plenty of parking. Kind of expensive for fish and chips.

Had the fish and chips. When I ordered she asked what type of fish. One of the choices was Angle Shark! Really? That was an immediate turnoff that they would serve ANY type of shark. So we split cod as the fish. It was really hot and tasty and the fries were good and hot too.
We were there late in the day and the place looked a bit worn. They have a huge outdoor covered patio area and an area in the front both which would be nice in the daytime. By the time we got there it was end of day and it just didn't seem clean. The floor and the area where the condiments were was not clean and it is next to trash cans and dirty dishware bins. And they have no restrooms which is odd for such a large place. Isn't it a law that a restaurant has to have a public restroom? It was across the parking lot. Not acceptable at all. Food was good but uneasy about the cleanliness and lack of facilities.Think I'll go back to Brophy's next time.

Andreas is an icon at the harbor and there is always a line to get in the door, place your order, pick up your food and seat yourself. It's priced higher than I am accustomed to at other places in town that serve good fish & chips or fish tacos. Probably because of its location at the harbor.

What I don't care for is the patio seating. Nice ambiance if you like eating outside near the harbor to view the boats in the marina, but there are trees on the patio that attract small birds. Not seagulls as you might expect. Small birds that are lured by scraps and cause their "droppings" to land on your table, chair, your food or YOU. Don't sit under a tree. Or near a tree. Or outside. We moved inside -- which has limited seating -- just to avoid being "dropped" on. Maybe a tarp or screen over the patio might help?

Their clam chowder is good. But if you are planning to visit the Ventura Harbor, there are a few other restaurants that serve chowder and seafood, Italian, Mexican or Greek cuisine.
