Stopped in friday night for some fish and chips both Halibut and Cod. Also ordered a Chowder buoy (Clam chowder in a fresh hollowed out Sourdough round roll). This place is really small up front but they have extra room in the back. The halibut fish and chips is not cheap at $16.99. Granted you get a good amount and it comes on a big bed of fries. If you split it between two people that works out to $8.50 each and if you look at it that way its not to bad. The same could be said for the Cod fish and chips at $12.99 an order and also big enough to share which works out to be $6.50 each which is about normal a price as you will find for fresh fish and chips. They have plenty of condiments and they have a good staff of people behind the counter. Also they do a good chowda........This place has been around for a while and probably will be here for sometime to come.

We came upon this restaurant by chance while wandering around Ventura Harbor and noticed the very long line outside the door. After spending a couple of hours wandering around the harbor we returned to Andria's and the line was much shorter so we decided to eat there. We were not disappointed. The food was freshly cooked to order and tasted delicious- fish and chips and clam strips and chips. We hadn't read any reviews before eating there and were really pleasantly surprised to find such high quality fish and chips in the USA.

Always eat here when in Ventura. Fish and chips is excellent, order with coleslaw for a nice treat. Grilled halibut very good too. It will get crowded so be prepared to stand in line. Decent prices.

Went to Andria's twice on a recent trip to Ventura - this resto has the very casual style of self order and self seating - they call your order number, and you pick up the food on a tray, and supply yourself with utensils and condiments. They offer many of the standard selections - salmon, halibut, cod, shrimp and scallops - and a unique fish from South Africa called the capesis. The lunch portions are huge - and come with a choice of sides, cole slaw, rice pilaf or french fries. They use the angel shark for their tremendous "fish burger", and it is a pleasant surprise as a milder fish than regular shark. The have delectable desserts, and a large selection of beers and wines for purchase there - did not have a dinner, but I would give them a try without a second thought! There seems to be a perpetual line at the order counter - even at 2:00 in the afternoon. if you are hungry for a great seafood meal, this is a place for you to stop! One special extra - they had a small fresh fish counter, and we tried both the fresh swordfish and the angel shark - they were totally fresh, and grilled up beautifully. PROS: quick service, huge portions, extensive beer selection (bottles). CONS: busy (you know the fish is fresh!), watch for the birds if you eat outside.

It's not unusual to see a line forming for orders at Andria"s Seafood at the Ventura Harbor. It is a favorite of ours and also for our visiting friends who ask to go to "the fish place." There is nothing fancy about Andrias, just the best clam chowder and fish and chips. The portions are huge so plan on sharing or taking some home.
