We went for a Sunday brunch and there was hardly anyone in the place. It should be packed. The service was Great! The food was fantastic! The view of the harbor is terrific! And, the price was very reasonable! I think the problem is the location is just not very high profile. I also noticed they have a flimsy banner near the main road entering the harbor area that wasn't hanging very well, so this place is not a location you'd probably find unless you know it's there (it's not along the mainstream harbor attraction area). Go to this place!! 'Cause I wanna go again and I'm afraid it might not be around if business is a slow as it was when we were there! REALLY A GREAT RESTRAURANT!!

This is on the "other side" of Ventura Harbor and has magnificent views and ambiance. Great value menu and above average food, It gets crowded with locals but is really worth it

When looking for great seafood and wonderful ambience and service, go to the Rhumb Line!
The people always go out of their way to make you feel welcome, including finding a table for you when you forgot to make reservations! Food is wonderful, from the appetizers to dessert! Drinks are outstanding! and you can look right outside at the boats in the Harbor!...

Our party of 5 enjoyed clam chowder, french onion soup, raw oysters, miso Salmon, mango shrimp salad, steamed clams (only disappointment this meal was the flavorless clam broth). Almost everything we ate was delicious and flavorful. Service was quick and friendly. We will visit again and would recommend it to others as well.

Well, we tried the Rhumb Line for dinner when we first moved to Ventura in 2012 and were not impressed with the menu but food & service was just OK especially for the $. When we heard the menu had changed, not sure if it did or not as this time we tried lunch, we decided to give it another try, ( by the way, we live withing walking distance ) We came on a Saturday about 1:30 and were seated right away. We had a pick of the place as we were the only customers in the dining room (probably not a good sign). Our waitress was very friendly and took our order right away. Twenty five minutes later we finally received our soup and 1/2 sandwich, which was the first we saw of our waitress since our order was taken. In her defense I did see two tables outside but I still think the wait was excessive. I had clam chowder that tasted more like potato soup and a grilled fish sandwich that was bland to say the least. My husband had the same sandwich and was unimpressed. His french onion soup was just OK, nothing to talk about. The interior was very plain but we did have a nice view. All-in-all we will not be returning anytime soon. Sorry
