To be honest, I was disappointed. The shops are pretty touristy, and most of them just sell the standard beach-related crap. You could be in any seaside town by the looks of them. There are a few pottery and photography galleries that have nicer stuff, but that's about it, except for the restaurants. The restaurants are a mixed bag, but they all seem to have nice views of the marina and surrounding mountains. The Channel Islands Visitor Center at the end is small, but has a couple of nice exhibits.
