Tried this place out from a recommendation from a friend. Food was good, server was nice, and the establishment was clean (don't let the exterior fool you).

The bad, they ran out of sushi and curry on a Saturday night, service was slow (waited an hour for food), and they didn't accept credit card (which was a real inconvenience because I don't like carrying cash).

Don't let my bad experience deter you from trying the food. I might go back again, and hope they have the curry and sushi I want. I'll be sure to take cash.

Excellent food. This is NOT fast food. Expect the service that you would receive in your neighbor's home. The tv is on and the kids are sitting quietly playing with their toys at the table next to you. The restaurant sits in the middle of a lower end neighborhood. DO NOT BE FOOLED, this is not about image...this is about an incredible eating experience.

We have been eating dinner here every Tuesday for last three years . This is authentic Japanese home style cooking, prepare by a Japanese cook. This is rare in el paso, tx since most of other Japanese restaurant are actually own by Koreans. The not much matmosphere, just like home. Air conditioner doesn't always work, they don't take credit cards and they run out of stuff . As I said just like home . However, the food is well prepared and delicious. Tamisan is a great cook, her curry are the best and my wife loves the saba(mackerel). Service great. Local Japanese compay employees are always in the place. Finding this place can be a challenge, but if you got cash, it's food is worth it.

Drove 45 minutes to get there, excited to try their food. Arrived at a sign stating they do not take credit cards. Dissapointed, I drove another 45 minutes to home. Didn't have debit/atm card on me...

So note to everyone: they don't take credit cards!

This place serves authentic Japanese food, as authentic as it gets. The udon and soba noodles were delicious and the shrimp and vegetable tempura were prepared just right. The veggie tempura even included this slice of squash that looks like a mini canteloupe under the batter which I have only seen in Japan. Haven't tried the sushi. Place is a bit of a dump but it's clean and has character, kind of like a salaryman's overseas crash pad.
