“Expected better in El Paso”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

I live in Va but have spent a large amount of time in the SW USA so am always looking for good Mexican food. This place was WELL recommended. It is HUGE and has a rather fancy mexican atmosphere (semi gaudy complete with live Mariachi band). Bottom line up front; I expected great things but got typical tourista ground beef Tex Mex. The margaritas come in 3 sizes, large, very large, and hot tub (42 oz). However, they are just tequila and lime juice, and tasted bulk made. The chile relleno I got was only warm, the cheese inside wasn't even melted, and with just a tad bit of ranchero sauce. The shrimp Jalisco was over cooked and wrapped with the saltiest bacon you could find (i.e. cheap...). The rice and beans were just as bland. If you are looking for really good, real Mexican food try Abuelo's (my favorite all across the country).Carlos and MIckey's is just another average version of one step above Taco Bell. Sorry, I expected better but that's the truth.

“Caldo De Res”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

I decided to give the place a second chance. This time at the location at the air port.

I ordered Caldo De Res and did not like the taste of the caldo. The meat also had no taste. It seems to me that they keep the meat in the freezer and use it to make different dishes. The meat has no flavor what so ever in its core. I mean, if you cut the meat to take a bite, the inside of it had no taste.
The caldo was also near cold when they served it.
I ordered the Texas Size Margarita and the sliced pieces of lime that they placed on the circumference of the glass were old and yellowish. I uploaded a photo of the margarita in this review.

“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

Nice atmosphere and great food. Serves great margaritas in multiple flavors including a 42 oz option. I don't know why it is listed as 4 $, the most expensive item on the menu was the shrimp fajitas at $18 with the average entree around $10.

Nice place, warm atmosphere with typical Tex-Mex cuisine. Choose a mixed plate named '' Revolution''. Ciao

“Really good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

Some friends from El Paso recommended Carlos & Mickeys to us. We took their recommendation, and were glad that we did. The food was really good, as was the service. The server was very helpful, and made sure that everything was right. The atmosphere was nice, a good place for dinner with friends! I'd highly recommend it.
