It is a "mandatory" place for locals to take their out-of-town visitors; when I was there at least three groups were a mix of locals and their guests. It is cool to see two countries and two states. Countries USA and Mexico; States Texas, New Mexico and Chihuahua.

Go early (opens at noon) the trip up is 4 minutes, and figure another 15-20 minutes on top, then 4 minutes back down. If you wait too long, you will stand in line longer than going up there. Having said that, depending upon time of year, closer to sunset would yield some nice snap shots.

This is a great way to see the entire city and how it is laid-out. The tram ride is pretty short and a bit expensive, (not a repeat attraction), but every newcomer or visitor should experience the city from this vantage point.

We walked up to the tram and down the 10,000 'stairs' - I recommend a car and a round trip ticket for the tram, but the view is excellent! Take a jacket, it's cool on the top of the mountain. Bring hiking shoes and gear if you plan on going down the stairs!

After years of driving past the Wyler Tramway, we finally stopped for a visit -- and love it! Quick, smooth, safe ride up and back on the tram. The guide with us was very friendly and shared info on both the tram and the natural area (there are multiple hiking trails around -- you can actually hike up to the top, and take the tram back down).

The views of NM, TX and Mexico are impressive (though smoggy towards Mexico). Worth the trip, especially for out of town guests!

If you've never been on a tram before, then I recommend this as a novel experience that you'll enjoy. You'll get the giddy feeling of the tram's movements while you're suspended in air and the enjoyment of the wide vistas while up so high. It will be fun.

If you have been on a tram before, then I'd take a pass. Too expensive ($7 per adult) for little to do or see at the top. Very cramped space at the top. Gift shop wasn't special. The ride will likely not compare favorably with your tram experiences in other locations. What you might do instead is drive up to the tram parking lot and enjoy beautiful views from there; maybe walk up up toward the peak for as long as you care to.
