“Not a three star hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2009

Hotwire advertised a three star hotel for $63.00 per night and this was what they gave me. This hotel seems like it used to be a nicer hotel that was turned into a La Quinta. The service and amenites are more along the lines of a two star. It is not bad but Hotwire should not be selling it as a three star.

My mother and I had two rooms over the last weekend in August. We were not going to arrive on Friday night until 9:00 p.m. and were going to be out most of Saturday touring the Clinton Library and other sites. So we were looking for some place clean and cheap. This hotel met our requirements. The rooms were $49 a night booked through the La Quinta web site. Half the price of any other hotel in downtown Little Rock. The location is not the most convenient but they did offer a free shuttle to the Clinton Library. We then walked to the old state house (about 7 or 8 blocks) and then walked about 8 blocks back to the hotel. Not a bad walk. Our rooms were both very clean and the bed was confortable. The parking was complimentary. The breakfast bar was okey but the same on both days. Coffee, apple or orange juice, two kinds of cold cereal, fresh waffles, hard boil eggs and an assortment of pastries. They did have oatmeal available in individual packages. A small pool which was very busy. The lobby area was very clean and the front desk staff very friendly.

The hotel met our needs. If you are looking for a romantic or luxury stay this is not it. But if you want someplace clean and inexpensive to sleep then I highly recommend it.

I stayed one week at this hotel and booked it through Hotwire (which billed this undisclosed hotel at 3 stars). The bad news is that my initial room was frankly horrible. It obviously was a room typically reserved for pet owners with stained carpeting. There were not even bath towels. The amenities--Kleenex, soap, shampoo-- were typical fare for a budget hotel, not a supposed three star hotel. Now, for the good news, when I complained about my room, I was offered a free upgrade. The staff was very polite all the way around and the upgrade made the stay actually enjoyable. So the bottom line, understand this hotel is at best, a two star and do not expect more than that.

Stayed late January for a Friday and Saturday night stay booked on Hotwire for $58 per night. Hotel was easy to find and in the center of Little Rock. Covered parking was free and convenient to use. Front desk person (Ladetrice?) was pleasant for our late check-in even as she was ending her shift- or maybe pleasant BECAUSE she was ending her shift :) Regardless of her motive the entire staff was professional and courteous during our stay.

Ended up on the 10th floor of 12 floor hotel along with the people that also checked-in at the time. Had a double queen bed room facing the main street of the hotel. The streets were generally quiet at night for the weekend but we were not immune from any sirens and loud vehicles even on the 10th floor. Took advantage of the free continental breakfast. Went there early both times when breakfast was well stocked. General combination of fruit, yogurt, two types of cereal, breads (not the freshest but ok when toasted), bagels, waffles, coffee and juice. Make your own waffles was nice to have but probably would've gotten tired of it after more than the two mornings we ate there.

Overall a pleasant stay for the price paid.

The rooms smell like mold. We booked 3 rooms for my bachelorette party and two of them did not even have shower curtains!!!! The location is not that great. The hotel does offer a shuttle which did give us a ride to the bars and picked us back up which was nice.

We went on a school trip to a national conference being held in Little Rock. Ten of us girls stayed there, and from the minute we arrived, their front desk people were WONDERFUL. They were very informative telling us about the city, amenities available to us, and the shuttle service was EXCELLENT. They would drop whatever they were doing to bring us to a restaurant, or the Peabody (where the conference was held) or pick us up from downtown late at night! They were extremely nice and talkative and friendly and I was just overly impressed by how likeable they were! Our shuttle driver gave us a hug goodbye when he dropped us off at the airport- he was wonderful! When we arrived, our room key didn't go with our room, so they quickly fixed our problem, and let us into the room. The rooms were very spacious, and the bathroom was nice, and the beds and pillows were exquisite! I would go out of my way to stay there again if I visit Little Rock again! Wonderful job with the customer service- wonderful.
