“Hands On Museum”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Ditto to the comments of those guests before us. I felt like we were living in a museum but still we were allowed to use these beautifully antiques. There is so much to see, feel, touch, hear, and smell, that your senses will be overwhelmed. Our particular package of the John Edward Murray tower mini suite included: Complimentary B&B Select Registry, tour of interior, use of downstairs ladies and gentlemen parlors and dining room, outdoor secret gardens, secret attic tower poker card room, red silk bows hangers, luxurious bath robes and towels and microfiber sheets, featherbed and pillows, dusting body powder, apricot bath soap, shampoo and conditioner, shower cap, apx 1 cup of Amaretta, bottle of champagne and chocolates, teas, bottled water, juice, coffee and snacks, a candlelight 2 course gourmet breakfast served every morning with juice and fresh ground coffee, tv, wifi, iphone charger alarm clock. We really enjoyed our stay at “The Empress of Little Rock”. It was truly a magical place and we were treated like royalty. Now we are returned to our home in New Orleans with many wonderful memories of our 40th Wedding Anniversary.

I highly recommend the Empress of Little Rock for anyone looking for a perfect place to host a bridal or baby shower. We held a bridal tea there for my sister-in-law the day before her wedding, and it was wonderful! We took the regular tea (rather than the high tea that is also offered), and it was only $20 per person. Since we didn't have to buy decorations or make any food at all, that ended up being a wonderful deal for the bridesmaid hosts! All the guests oohed and ahhed over the gorgeous dining room where the tea was held. It was totally private and we loved how special the venue felt. The Empress served us tea and delicious scones with clotted cream and lemon curd. Wonderful! They were also very helpful in the months of planning our event ahead of time. Keep them on your list for a perfect occasion location.

I selected The Empress for it's breathtaking beauty. The entire stay lived up to any and all expectations. Everything was perfectly appointed and elegant. Details were carefully planned to make our stay so very enjoyable. The Innkeepers and staff were very interested in making our stay everything we needed it to be. The renovations done on the house were just amazing, you must look at the scrapbook. We will certainly be back. We loved Little Rock and were so pleasantly surprised by the down town by the river. Three days was not enough of time, but it was a good start. We look forward to returning soon! Thanks Jessica and staff!

What a beautiful place! The Empress of Little Tock is absolutely outstandingly beautiful. Decked out inside like a Victorian mansion, with velvet arm chairs, copious patchwork cushions, stuffed animals, oil lamps, rugs, dolls and so much more. It really was very unique!
Our room was equally gorgeous. 'Petit Jean' was named after a French lady who had disguised herself as a sailor boy to join her fiance on a cross Atlantic voyage as she wasn't allowed to accompany him. There was a wooden frame in the room with this story on it, and the room was nautical themed, with gorgeous golden rope hemmed navy blue curtains, tired up so as to look like sails, an ornate bottle with liqueur in for our enjoyment, the softest sheets I've ever touched, and nautical tidbits decorating every surface. It was just sublime.
Service was brilliant, Deborah the innkeeper extremely friendly and the 2 course gourmet breakfast the next morning was delicious. I would highly recommend anybody stay here, even if only for one night, as a special treat!

Judi-Mae: I am so delighted you enjoyed this room. It is hard to choose favorites, but I've always loved the authentic story behind the naming of this room, the French cabinboy who turned out to be the girl in love with the Captain who couldn't bare to be left behind, and with courage, wasn't!! History sometimes tops our imagination, and this room reflects all of that feeling. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for coming! Please come back soon.

This place is lovely. I love the Victorian style. The room (whole house) was spotless and the breakfast was delicious. Bob and Sharon are the greatest!!!!! Ms. Sharon guided me, by phone, right to The Empress. I had gotten completely lost thanks to my wonderful GPS. I will definitely visit again.

Love this B&B! Very unique brick Victorian close to all the best restaurants and shopping in Little Rock. You are literally a few minutes from the thriving riverfront district, which means some of the best food in the state of Arkansas, historic landmarks, Little Rock Zoo, hiking trails, lakes, and did I mention shopping??? :). Will continue to make this our place to stay in Little Rock and recommend to others, also! Enjoy your trip!
