I checked at 3 am on July 26, 2014. First impression of the lobby was that it felt and smelled clean. Clarence, the night front desk man, was very accommodating, especially with regard to my reservation, which had to be tweaked a little. Having driven all day, I appreciated any help given.
The room was awesome. In the kitchen was a full sized refrigerator, a dishwasher, stove, pots pans and utensils. The desk had a pull out table for when you want a bigger tabletop for a proper meal. Speaking of cooking, should you feel the need/urge to, there is a super walmart right next door, and dozens of shops at the nearby plaza. There was also a sofa bed, which looked slightly worn but still clean.
The room came with free breakfast. It was acceptable, nothing fantastic. There was a waffle maker and different cereals, breads, oatmeal and fruit. There was a juice dispenser for orange, cranberry and another kind of juice. This being the south I appreciated the biscuits and gravy in the buffet. The only protein/non starchy carb in the whole spread was the boiled eggs though. I'm not doing paleo or anything but I would have appreciated bacon or sausages or even another kind of egg. This is why I didn't give them the full 5 stars. Aside from that nothing else was off. Even the lady tending to the breakfast station was helpful and present for any guest needs.
I was given a late check out without my asking for it. (Thank you so much!) went back to sleep after breakfast and they probably saw that I came in the middle of the night and let me sleep uninterrupted, except for the ladies who asked if I needed housekeeping or any sort of toiletries (another nice thing). Special thanks to Kristie at the front desk for being efficient with my check out. :)
Check out was a breeze. I used priceline and shelled out less than one hundred for the room, when it seemed like it was worth far more than that, being so well furnished and in a great location. I also have them my marriot rewards number and received 5x points to the dollar despite having used priceline.
I was told that they (Kristie at least) constantly check tripadvisor for reviews and since they were voted as one of the top hotels in little rock, it appears they listen to their customers.
All in all, I think for the dollar price vs the Marriott rewards points price (10k points since it's a category 2) better just pay the dollar price. It's a CLEAN, comfy hotel in a great location.
