“Haven't felt this relaxed in months!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2011

My husband and I desperately needed a little vacation after a particularly difficult February. We wanted to visit a city with which we weren't familiar, and Little Rock fit the bill at only 3.5 hours away. After reading the unanimously positive reviews of Robinwood here on TripAdvisor, I made a reservation for three nights in the Grady Manning room via their website.

We arrived a little after 3 p.m. on a rainy Tuesday. Karen and Miriam, the mother-daughter owners, greeted us in the front room. They went over our options for breakfast (allergies, preferences, etc.) and gave us a brief tour of the house. Our room was very clean, beautifully furnished, and looked just like the pictures online. The bed was extremely plush and very comfortable, with plenty of pillows and luxurious sheets. The Jacuzzi tub was a welcome sight after a stressful day of driving in bad weather.

During our stay, we really enjoyed the upstairs sunroom, which gets great light all throughout the day. It was a wonderful place for us to sit and read, use our laptop (with free wireless internet), or play cards. The complimentary snacks, drinks, and bath salts were a thoughtful touch. Even the beer kept in the common fridge (also complimentary) was quality stuff. They offered New Belgium Fat Tire and Sam Adams Noble Pils while we were there.

Breakfast is served anywhere between 8 and 10 a.m., based on your preference. Depending on the number of guests, you may eat at the small table in the downstairs sunroom, or at the large dining room table. The food is delicious and generously portioned. Most meals start with a seasonally-appropriate fruit cup (we had strawberries and bananas), followed by a homemade muffin or slice of quick bread, then a breakfast entree like scrambled eggs or sausage casserole. Coffee and juice were provided, as well. Karen and Miriam sat with us throughout the meal, and we talked about the city and the neighborhood. It was great to get to know them. They are approachable and helpful without being intrusive. Breakfast was the only time we really saw them during the day, but if they went out, they left a handwritten note letting us know where they were and how to contact them.

We are a young couple (24 and 36, respectively), and the decor and general atmosphere of the place appealed to us. It was comfortable and elegant without feeling stuffy, frilly, or outdated like many other B&Bs.

Robinwood is dog-friendly, and although we didn't bring ours this time, it's nice to know they would be welcomed. Bruno and Katie, the two dogs on the premises, are rarely seen or heard, and very well-behaved.

The neighborhood is near the Governor's Mansion, and it's rife with beautifully restored older homes. It was quiet throughout the day and night and felt very safe. Parking is either on the driveway or on the street. Robinwood is an easy, short drive to downtown, the River Market, and the Clinton Library. I-630 is also easily accessible and is a quick, if less-scenic, way to get from one end of town to the other. Even as someone who had never before visited Little Rock, I found it very easy to navigate.

We had a great experience at Robinwood and would be thrilled to return in the future. Such welcoming hosts and comfortable accommodations would make Robinwood a great option for a road trip stopover or a romantic weekend.

I needed a place to stay in LR that would accomodate my dog, a 24 lb. American Eskimo Spitz (a real spitfire), and a neighboring B&B recommended them for their pet friendliness. They could not have been more accomodating, loved on me and my pet, made us feel welcome, fantastic breakfast, beautifully decorated and polished rooms, fabulous house! I can't say enough about this place. Going away on business was like coming home!

Beautiful old house upgraded with modern conveniences. WiFi throughout building. HD TV in rooms. All rooms and common areas beautifully appointed. Bed was very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure! The breakfast was very good. The only downside was "light bleed" thru window coverings and door...but I still slept very soundly!

This wonderful B & B is owned by Karen and Marion who provide not only a top notch home but one that is warm and comfortable to be in. It is an older home that has been brought back to life with nice decorations and rooms for visitors. The wooden stairs and floor do creak which in our opinion add to the charm. Rooms are very comfortable with a spacious upstairs sun room for relaxing and one downstairs also for relaxing or breakfast. The owners strive to make everything perfect for your visit including a made to order breakfast. While they will not impose themselves upon guests, they are happy to sit and schmooze with you if YOU want them to. We had a wonderful visit with them which provided more insight to living in the South then we could have obtained by any other means. Others have written about the fine location and other amenities. Enough to say that we highly recommend Robinwood B & B to anyone looking for an alternative to the normal franchise hotels.

Our Staff gets together only once or twice a year, as a group, so we always try to make it special and memorable. The Robinwood B&B accomplished just that! Most of our Staff members travel extensively, and are used to staying in nice hotel accomodations. They all raved about how wonderful the Robinwood was, and what a great location this had been for our December Meeting. Our Host, Karen Ford, was gracious, and extremely accomodating of our plans and agenda. She went out of her way on several occasions to assist us with special requests. We couldn't be happier, and will plan to return in the future. Thanks, to Karen and Miriam Ford for making us all feel so welcome!

We just spent six days at the Robinwood and were utterly blown away by the level of service provided by owners Miriam and Karen Ford. They were genuine, helpful, and beyond accommodating throughout our stay. Our stay was split up-three days there, then an overnight trip to Memphis, then three days back. Karen graciously suggested we just take what we needed to Memphis and leave the rest of our luggage with them until we returned! My boyfriend has always hated staying at B & B's-until now.

The great food and comfortable lodging is covered at length by previous reviewers. What sets this B & B apart from the rest is the quality of the owners. It's comforting to know that even if something wasn't perfect, they would do everything, within reason, to remedy the situation. I applaud their commitment to provide outstanding service with a smile. This attitude makes all of the difference and has earned my future business. Thank you!

This B&B is in a very quiet, pleasant neighbourhood, about 4 miles from the bars and restaurants on President Clinton Avenue and near the Governor's Mansion. The owner was very welcoming and pleasant and took the time to show us round the premises and make herself availble if we had any questions.

The room was extremely clean and comfortable with an enormous bed. The owners provide snacks, tea and coffee and even cold beers for their guests.

We were given a choice of times for breakfast and the owners asked about any dislikes. Breakfast was really tasty and the owners made time to chat with their guests.

I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in Little Rock.
