Best Western Town & Country Inn
Ranked #3 of 22 Hotels in Cedar City
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 4, 2012

I rarely come to Cedar City, but over the years I have stayed at 5 other hotels in town. This one is my favorite. The rooms are clean, very nicely appointed, comfortable, fairly large. This is an old property that has been recently remodeled. The property is really two hotels on both sides of the street with two breakfast rooms, two front desks, and two pools. The property was recently updated to Best Western Plus status and deserves it. My only concern is that the desk chair is so low, it was like sitting on the floor. The wireless internet was excellent.

Room Tip: I didn't see an elevator to the second floor. Also the rooms have exterior entrances.

It's clean and centrally located and kid friendly with two pools (one inside, one out). Breakfast buffet across the street was below par. Worse orange juice I ever tasted and few healthy choices. As noted by another reviewer the awkward placement of the TV is a minor irritation. Abbey Inn up the road is a better choice.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We apologize you felt our breakfast was not up to par. We do try to offer a variety of different items to please each of our guests. Perhaps we need to look at our layout to make sure all of our healthy items such as fresh fruit, yogurt and granola, and breads are as visible as our hot items. We will see what we can do to improve and become better. We hope you will give us another chance to earn your loyalty!

I travel back and forth to Flagstaff AZ. from Spring Creek NV and found this motel on line that looked good so I made a reservation.I talked to the man behind the desk and was upgraded to a great room without knowing. When I arrived I was suprised to see a Sizzler in the parking lot, that was good. This is a great place to stay with so much to do around the area. I have been going back ever since and can usually get the room I stayed in the first time by request, very helpful staff and overall nice accommodations.

We were driving from Boise ID, home to Calif. and thought this looked like an easy stop. Did I mention we were doing this with a 4 year old! We were caught in 3 dust storms and 2 heavy rain storms. I called ahead to let them know we would be late, the friendly staff told me no problem, that there was a late night market right across the street. And they had a wonderful ground floor suite ready for us when we arrived. Making it very easy to carry a sleeping child in without waking her up. What great service!

After driving from Cheyenne, Wyoming for 8 hours, we decided to make a reservation at the Best Western in Cedar City. I got on my iPhone, struggling with the tiny letters to make the reservation for a late arrival. When we arrived about 9:30 PM, the young desk attendant, Sara, told us that we had made a reservation for THE FOLLOWING NIGHT. When she saw my disappointed look, though, she smiled and said, "many people make that mistake, since the date that shows up on your screen is the following night, not the night you're entering your reservation. Fortunately, we have one room left and I'm going to give you the same rate you were quoted." We fell into bed, had a great complimentary breakfast, and got an early start the next morning for home in Southern California.

Our criteria for staying in Cedar City were proximity to the Utah Shakespeare Company, proximity to the 4th of July parade route, and a pool. The BW Town and Country met all three criteria - 10-15 minute walk to the theatre, right on the parade route, and a decent indoor pool (and access to an outdoor pool across the street). Our unit was quiet, the enhanced continental breakfast was very good, especially being able to eat out of doors on their patio. The only downside was that the air conditioning unit was either on or off. Too loud to keep on all night, and too hot out doors not to. We did hear from the mananement that they are in the process of replacing the units with ones that are controlled by thermostat, so hopefully future guests will have a quieter and cooler experience.

We are so happy you enjoyed staying at our property! Our downtown location does have the benefit of close proximity to parades, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Southern Utah University, and many other important venues. We apologize that the air conditioning unit was not functioning properly. We have made the changes necessary to fix the problem. We hope you will come back and see us again soon!
