“a little outdated room”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2012

we stayed in the hotel during winter ski trips. hotel rooms are bit outdated, room decor, beds, furniture as well as amenities are average. room size is good. we stayed in two double beds room, bed size is rather small. free breakfast was excellent, though not too many choices. The hotel has only a few rooms booked during the time we travel.
overall an average hotel, may stay here again. However we did stay in Marriott spring suite next door which was similiar priced but much more clean/and comfortable.

We arrived at this hotel after a long day of driving. We were a couple of minutes early for the afternoon cookies, but the staff person brought them out hot & provided them for us (also provided snacks as a member of the hotel chain). The hotel location is pretty good (just off I-15), somewhat between Bryce Canyon & Zion national parks. It was a quick drive to the main part of town for Cedar City (the hotel is on the outskirts). The room was comfortable. No refrigerator. Clean. Pretty quiet. Good breakfast selection. I would stay here again.

This Holiday Inn Express in Cedar City, Utah, is really well managed. The front desk staff and breakfast room staff could not be more friendly, cheerful, helpful and informative. They are great!!! The hotel is super clean. We noticed some construction guys came into the lobby tracking tons of gooey mud all over the floors. We thought, "what do their own homes look like if they act this way?" Within a few minutes, the floors were sparkling clean again...great staff!!!

Late at night while we slept, a man with severe thoughtfulness-deficit left his dog in the car as he checked into his room. During the 15 minute process, the dog barked incessantly through the open car window waking us up. I phones the front desk after waiting for the racket to stop. The desk clerk cheerfully responded, "Are you calling about that annoying dog?" I said, "yes." By then, the dog was gone and no more barking.
Here is what I would like this hotel to think about: when a customer leaves a noisy, disruptive dog, blaring radio, etc. running at the hotel front door while checking in, the clerk SHOULD kindly ask the customer to remedy the public nuisance and then come back in so the clerk can expedite the check in. NEVER sacrifice the sleep or comfort of your guests to the anxiety of checking in a boorish customer who is a serious menace to all your guests.

Room Tip: avoid rooms facing front of hotel....obviously very noisy if thoughtless guests make disturbances la...

It's not easy to find decent hotels that will accept pets. So when you find a nice hotel that allows the little dudes it's appreciated. This Holiday Inn Express has a few rooms where pets are allowed. There is an added fee of $15 but the room was nice and near an exit. Everything was clean, the typical cookie cutter Holiday Inn Express breakfast, easy internet access and a friendly enough staff.

This is an older HI Express. The front desk staff is very nice. The rooms are older, which is not a problem but they need to do a more thourough cleaning. If you look along the carpet borders near the baseboards, you can see dust that has probably accumulated for MONTHS. The bathroom was nice and clean, though. The carpets in the lobby are dingy, and the whole lobby area needs a good cleaning and painting. The walls/elevator are dirty and have many scrape marks. Old is fine, but only if it is old and clean. The breakfast was fine, but the pancake machine was broken. The housekeeping staff is very nice and polite.

I stayed for one night last June. I had a pleasant stay and the bed was comfortable. I was dropped off at the hotel and did not have a means of transportation. I had a flight early in the morning and assumed I would get a taxi. That night I called all the numbers for taxis in the phone book to schedule a pick up for the morning. Only one of numbers worked and the guy told me he didn't start until 8 am. I was in a panic then and even considered walking 5+ miles to the airport.
After talking to the front desk agent Beth, she offered to drive me to the airport at 4 am! That morning she was out front in her car, ready to go. She even had a Red Bull for me! She went above and beyond the call of duty! Beth is an A++ front desk agent and I wish more were like here!

I was looking for a place to stay close to Zion National park and Cedar City isn't far at all. The Hotel was new, clean and the staff was great. There are quite a variety of places to eat close by which is a bonus. The only problem was the weather, it snowed which kind of put a damper on the trip so I left a day early in a snow storm. Next time I'll stay there again after I check the weather first
