Liked to be able to bring in our own wine. Food and service was very good. Walking distance from the Iron Gate Inn, where we stayed.

“Not bad”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

I've read the decidedly mixed reviews so I was not sure what to expect, a few random comments. Yes it was pricy for local standards( $12 beet salad) but we are newly from the DC area so not shocking to us. The noise level was a bit high but again nothing out of the ordinary. I had the chicken which was basically grilled chicken covered with cheese , avocado and tomato, unimaginative but not bad, my wife enjoyed her fish. I ordered a baked potato, I assumed by not specifying a toping it would come with none as I wanted, instead it had both butter and sour cream on it, the vegetables were fresh and tasty. The service was very good. We brought our own wine which was a decided benefit. We will go back but not before trying a few other places .

“Repeat Diners”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

We ate at the Depot Grill twice this week. My wife ordered and was served a rare beef filet. My duck was medium rare as I like it. We both ordered fish the second night. Both the sea bass and the salmon were moist and tender. The service from seating to the end of dinner was attentive and gracious. We'll be back in the fall and when we return for next summer's Shakespeare Festival.

“Overpriced and attached to the Best Western, but not part of it”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

We had expected a very nice dinner and the ambiance was nice enough (a restored train station), but the menu was fairly short and the prices were high for what we got. While attached to the Best Western Hotel, the hotel claimed no responsibility or knowledge of it (they did not know the restaurant was closed the first night we asked about it) and we needed to walk out in the rain to get to the entrance. - at least it was just a short walk. Wait staff was not very knowledgeable about their wine selection. That the place was pretty empty at prime dinner time should have been a clue to go somewhere else.
