“Abbey Inn great location for Utah adventures”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2013

Cedar City is a good stopping point for various adventures in the Utah area. We used the Abbey Inn as a last day point before a trip back to Las Vegas airport. The rooms are comfortable, large and well appointed. A nice, clean and well located hotel directly off from I-15. Breakfast was excellent (in rear of hotel) and well stocked out. The room entrances are individual along the outside of the building, with a protective walkway, so be prepared if there is cold weather. The king room was large and had the best spa tub on our trip. We used both the frig and microwave in the room. Rates were modest considering the location, room and breakfast. McD. and Denny's are nearby (walking distance) if you travel earlier than 7am (start of bkfast service). Lots of services in Cedar City both at Abbey Inn exit and the next exit on I-15. Would stay again in the area. In late October we had snow over the pass on Hwy. 20 (coming from Capitol Reef area) so be prepared for colder weather although Cedar City and I-15 were fine. website was accurate and check-in and out fast and pleasant. Good place overall.

Thank you for staying with us at the Abbey Inn and for taking a moment to share you experience. Cedar City is an ideal location for travelers who want to explore the attractions of Southern Utah for a few days. During the summer and fall months, we have many national park visitors, hikers, and Shakespeare festival patrons. During the late fall and winter, we see a lot of skiers and snowboarders going to Brian Head. No matter what your adventure may be, we hope you will make the Abbey Inn your home away from home. Thanks again!

We wanted to try this hotel because its in a good location and boasted a full hot breakfast. The rooms are very nice and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good but we've had better. It was a step up from the std continental breakfast with the addition of waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy. The room was very classy and we will definitely stay here again.

We planned our long drive from Calgary to Wellton and picked a few select hotels for our stops along the way. We selected Cedar City as a stop as it fit perfectly with our driving plans. Where to stay...Expedia gave us many options. We looked at Abbey Inn 2.5* seemed like s bit of a risk but due to the great reviews we took a chance. WOW are we glad we did, great staff, VERY CLEAN rooms overall impressed. I travel multiple times a year, in several countries and have NEVER felt obligated to write a review.. If you want great value for your money without compromising, stop you won't regret it! Our stay, Oct 30,2013

Thank you so much for staying at the Abbey Inn for taking the time to share your experience with others. During this time of year, we get a lot of snowbirds heading south for the winter. Cedar City is an ideal location for a one-night stop during your travels. We are glad you took a chance on the independent motel, and we are delighted that you enjoyed your visit. We hope to see you again as you travel through Cedar City.

I was surprised at how big and well appointed the room was. The beds and linens were very comfortable with the only minor downside of having smaller cushion sized pillows. There was a fridge and microwave in a little alcove. The bathrooms are very clean and a good size. A full sized breakfast was included with hot eggs, sausage and light and fluffy biscuits and gravy served by two ladies who even came by and poured seconds of coffee and asked how everything was.

I was driving from San Diego to Salt Lake City by myself and just couldn't make the last few hours in the dark so I decided to stay in Cedar City. The Abbey Inn is one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. There is a lot of road noise so make sure and get a room that is on the second floor and faces away from the freeway. The staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and the person staffing the breakfast room was very delightful. It was just what I needed!

Thank you for staying at the Abbey Inn and for sharing your experience. We are glad you chose to stop in Cedar City instead of drive the 3-4 hours to Salt Lake City. That was a wise decision because there is not much between Cedar City and Provo (3 hours north of Cedar). We are also delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you again for sharing, and come see us again in the future.

A business colleague and I stayed at this hotel for three days while attending a conference at Southern Utah University. The hotel, which is very convenient to the university, was a very comfortable place to stay. The breakfast, served by two very pleasant young ladies, was located in an adjacent building. It consisted of the usual plus freshly prepared scrambled eggs and sausage. All in all, a great experience. I would easily stay here again.

The Abbey Inn is a great location for people visiting SUU campus or the Shakespeare Festival because we are so close. We are delighted that you stayed and hope to see you in the future. Thank you!

We stayed here one night. We were on a motorcycle and didn't want to ride to go out for dinner after dark. The problem was, there was no decent place to eat that was walking distance from the hotel. The only option was fast food places. We had to go out early and pick up food and bring it back, which worked out fine. The breakfast that was included in the price of the room was in a little house behind the hotel. It was jam packed with kids and adults and the noise level was beyond tolerable. We left immediately and did not have breakfast there. We instead opted to pay for breakfast at IHOP which sits adjacent to the hotel.

Thank you for staying at the Abbey Inn and for sharing your experience with us. We truly appreciate feedback from our guests that show us where we can improve. We are sorry to hear that you were not able to enjoy our breakfast. In those cases when the breakfast house is to crowded for comfort, we can offer trays and tin foil to cover your hot items so you can enjoy your breakfast in the room. We do hope you stay with us again in the future and that you will have the opportunity to try our breakfast. Thanks again!
