Owner description: A smaller version of Bryce Canyon, this 2,500-foot deep basin filled with strange limestone formations in a vivid array of colors and hues offers breathtaking views on a five-mile drive along the rim. This naturally formed amphitheater has guided walks in the summer and a few designated hiking trails.

We stopped off here on our way to Washington state. Just beautiful! There is a short 2 mile loop trail with an alpine pond that runs along the ridge. We were there for sunrise and it was just incredible. Definitely worth the stop!

Cedar Breaks is definitely worth the drive up from Cedar City. Only about a 1/2 hour away, but straight up, so way cooler than Cedar City. On a very hot day, its delightful there! Continue on to Brian Head for a delightful little ski village in the summer. Again, very comfortable for summertime. They have a delightful fair July 4-6. Check it out!!!

... We visited here in early June on our tour of national parks and monuments in UT and AZ. Having just left the Bryce Canyon area, we were headed to Cedar City and this was on the way... I had been here before, and was very impressed...

The views are spectacular. It is beautiful. It is a small place - not like Bryce, but it is just as beautiful. The weather is a lot cooler as the elevation is higher than the other parks in the area. There was still snow on the ground. We had a good time - and my grandkids were able to get another badge as a Jr. Ranger.

If you are in the area, stop by. It is well worth the stop! The colors are great, and the views are wonderful! Another A++++!!! ...and of course, it's a plus to be able to get in free!!!
