La Quinta Inn & Suites Manhattan

I stayed here from 5-7-12 to 5-13-12.This is the 5th time ive stayed at the La Quinta in NYC and every time i am pleased with my stay. im in NYC so all i ask for from a room is that its a decent rate in a nice safe location. to me this the perfect location. your walking distance from Times Square and Greenwich Village. the subway to Yankee Stadium was right down the block so thats perfect for me. Madison Square Garden is only 2 blocks away so i was able to walk to the 2 Ranger games there. My room was perfect for one or two people. like i said im in NYC. if your in your room for more than 2 hours during the day its a waste of time. its a place to shower and sleep for me. im in NYC to go to games and have a good time not lie in my room watching tv. the bed was comfortable, i was able to have a good nights sleep every night. the staff seemed friendly as i only spoke to them at check in and check out. the concierge guy, tony, i think, was very friendly. hed talk to me about the Yankees whenever id be walking out to go to a game. im not much of a breakfast person so a donut and milk down in complimentary breakfast area was fine with me. also, its located in a nice, safe area. there are always alot of people on the streets especially on a friday and saturday night. i had no problem going for some pizza and bringing it back to my room at 1130pm. the bar on the top floor was nice, pretty loud and crowded on the weekends. its a bar, what do you expect, people sitting around talking low? i dont get the problems people have with this hotel. most of them are just people being way too picky who feel everything has to be perfect and want their butts kissed. i reccommend this hotel anyone and everyone. dont waste your money on more expensive hotels when you can stay at this one.

Room Tip: if you are more than two people pay the extra to get a bigger room. i got one by mistake once and t...

I stayed in this hotel last year! The rooms weren't too big but this is NYC we are talking about.
Other than that rooms were clean and comfortable, they also had a pretty decent continental breakfast, staff was nice and helpful, and the location of this hotel was just perfect! Close to everything and the subway it's just around the corner. I believe I paid around 325 for the whole stay in February for 3 nights. Not bad huh? That's probably the average price per night in any NYC hotel.
I will definitely consider this hotel next time I travel to NYC.

Excellent hotel for the price. All the things you need for a break in New York, and the free safe in your room and same day luggage storage, also free wi-fi were a nice touch as everywhere else i've been charge extra for these things. Location could not have been better as you are central to everything with a view of the Empire State Building above you from the roof top bar. Penn Station is a 10 minute walk. Only criticism would be the breakfast room. Breakfasts were very good but the seating was totally inadequate as too many guests and too few tables. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel 100% for your stay in New York.

It's a decent, clean hotel located within walking distance from Penn Station, the Empire State Building and Herald Square. It's not too expensive and all of the major subway lines are within two blocks away.

I totally recommend it if you're on a budget.

We had a great time with our 2 adults daughters and their partners.

Thinking of the trash whole around the world, and the milieu it should be better not to use so many disposable things at breakfast.

The best thing of this hotel is its location. The staff is not very gratefull and sometimes rude. The breakfast is a normal continental breakfast and the breakfast room is veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy tiny for a lot of people.

Having the Herald Square Subway station less than a block from this hotel is the best selling point,as we used the subway exclusively to get around, and then to have a light breakfast included got us started each morning. Our room the first night was a 2 queen bed room as the king we requested was "leaking". It was small, but not unexpected. However the next 4 nights we were in our king room and had a lot of room, considering we were in New York. Very clean and the staff was professional and helpful. A tip: they have a shuttle to the airport for 33.00(LaQuardia)/pp. But our cab ride was less than 30.00 for both of us.

Room Tip: I would opt for a king size bed for a couple.
