For 350$ per night I have slept with my Bose noise cancelling headphones for 3 days. This is not a joke. After first day I asked to change the room especially as my pregnent wife could not sleep too. No answer at all. How come such a hotel has so old crapy windows? All nights you hear the garbage track like you are there on the street..while you are actually on the 15th floor of luxury hotel. And yet, renovated rooms is a really good joke..

Room Tip: I dont believe this hotel can offer any good room at all

Thank you for your comments and review. Our apologies for any issues you experienced during your stay especially regarding street noise. Yes, NYC is truly the city that never sleeps. The front desk does offer complementary sleep kits (ear plugs, sleep mask) for our sensitive sleepers. Again our apologies and thank you for your feedback.

To begin with I arrived in a tiny room, which can only be described as a small, dirty sauna. The radiator was broken and pumping out heat that meant the tiny pokey $219 a night room could not even be cooled down by the industrial sounding air conditioning. So I tried ringing ‘Guest Response’ on the phone to ask someone to switch of the radiator.

The phone did not work, so I headed down the 17 floors with my colleague who after encountering a few issues with the lift got us to the ground floor. The lady at the front desk addressed me very quickly and transferred me to a larger room which would hopefully resolve the issue of heat.

So the new room; the shower does not work properly, the mangy older radiator is thankfully switched off, but the air-con does not work despite making very loud endeavors. The room is still very hot and stuffy and the window cannot be opened . The phone in this room will also not allow me to ring ‘Guest Response’, ‘Concierge’ or ‘Room-service’ to complain or resolve it.

$14.95 for 24 hours wifi seems a bit steep also, although I know this is not a rare charge in New York.

The hotel needs serious maintenance and modernizing, to compliment a glamorous lobby, polite, courteous staff and an ideal location (view of Met Life building was cool).

Room Tip: A radiator that can be switched off, aircon that is not 20 years old. Avoid the tiny bedrooms

Nice Hotel!!! I was her on a business trip with my company and I was treated like a king. I got in early to NYC and the hotel made it a point to get my room ready for me so I could prepare for my meeting. The room service was fast and delightful. Thank you for a wonderful time.

If you like to wait the Roosevelt is just right for you!

As I am writing this, I am waiting for a roll of toilet paper to arrive after calling housekeeping two hours ago. After waiting for 30 minutes to order a direct at a table this early evening at the bar, we went to the counter to order a drink... And were told to wait until the waiter came to take the drink order at our table.

When we checked in two days ago we were supposed to have adjoining rooms with our daughter and two small grandchildren. "Just wait until tomorrow and we will accommodate you" was the message from the unfriendly" check in person. Next morning at 7:58 AM, we heard our adjoining rooms would be ready at noon. We had learned by then that the hotel has trouble with planning or the truth, so we check back at 2 PM, assuming that was enough extra time to make it happen to move to adjoining rooms. They could quite find any record this move was supposed to happen...then when they did the adding rooms weren't quite ready. So we with two active grandchildren "camped out" for an hour in front of a increasingly backed up front desk until they followed through on their hours previous commitment for adjoining rooms.

They came through but it was painful. During this process a wonderful " bellhop" was most helpful, but had to do it behind the scenes."

Finally we were exhausted after this adjoing room fiasco so we decided to order an early room service for dinner... There was no menu in the room and when we called at about 5 PM they didn't quite have the menu yet. Our order of chocolate milk for the grandchildren somehow turned into chocolate cake by the time the order arrived. The chicken strips... after having ordered them 30 minutes earlier... we were told they were no longer on the menu.

Is anyone managing this hotel who cares about the paying customer?

Regarding adjoing/connecting rooms, we only have two sets of these type of rooms. This type of requests are never guaranteed. However we are happy to accommodate if available at check-in time. I needed to be in midtown for one night during the week for business and was struggling to find someplace for less than $300. I got a great (tiny but clean and functional) room here for $219. The buzz in the lobby is great and you are steps from Grand Central Station. I've stayed in similar priced rooms in NYC that were questionable. I was very happy with my little room.

Room Tip: Check website often. Prices vary wildly hour by hour.
