Our first ever trip to NYC so we wanted to be sure of a good hotel. On checking Tripadvisor, the reviews pointed us to the Hotel Giraffe - and as usual with Tripadvisor, we were not dissappointed!

The Hotel was exactly what we required - small, friendly and ideally placed to visit the city, with a subway stop just yards away. The rooms were well appointed, with comfortable beds and excellent service. There was very little traffic noise, despite being on a cross-roads in Manhattan! Our room had a small but usable balcony from which to gaze at the busy street life below.

Breakfast was a combination of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, pastries, bagels and all the coffee you could need! The evening reception between 5 & 7 served free wines by the glass and a selection of cheeses and other nibbles - an ideal way to end a busy day - or start the evening!

We would certainly stay here again - friendly staff, a great location and a wondeful room certainly made for a very memorable holiday!

Having found Hotel Giraffe with glowing reviews 3 Ladies on a long weekend break decided it was the hotel for them ! Well it does include a very substantial continental breakfast, 24 hour free coffee/tea/biscuits PLUS wine and cheese in the evening.... We were not disappointed, it delivered on all counts. The staff were friendly and very accomodating. The location great to either walk out to shops/tourist sights/restaurants or to the Subway station. Would certainly go there again without hesitation.

Our stay at the Giraffe was very pleasant. It is a small, quiet hotel in a great location, with upscale accommodations at a comparatively reasonable price for NYC. The breakfast buffet was always fresh, offered a good variety with healthy options and saved us a significant amount of money. We also enjoyed the evening wine and cheese reception. Staff are are very professional and very pleasant. We had both a standard room and a suite with a balcony and were very pleased with the size. Street noise, a problem with many NYC hotels, was minimal. Would highly recommend this as a NYC destination!

Hotel Giraffe very good location
Wine & Cheese nice touch ( not on sunday ) and breakfast was great
Rooms spacious & beds comfortable
Gramercy Tavern was excellent for dinner
We bought the day pass tickets on the subway but if there is 4 in your group , taxis are just as cheap
No where is open on Sunday morning ! We walked Brooklyn Bridge for ice cream with a view but arrived at 10.30am and the place only opened at 12 noon. Water Taxis were also a bit sporadic
Central Park bicycle tours a must
Empire State floor 102 stunning at sun set

Great city - we will be back

We booked for the weekend of our anniversary, just mentioned we are looking for a great time. We had the surprize to receive a room upgrade and bottle of wine, along with an excellent service. Superb breakfast starts your day, wine and cheese in the evening, great coffee any time, amazing staff.

Pleasant hotel with spacious clean rooms and good bed. Well located slightly outside the hustle and bustle of Times Square but with bus and subway close by for easy access to all main attractions. Free nice continental breakfast, availability of free coffee (regular, expresso, capuccino) and tea in the lobby during the day and a very nice free wine and cheese offering from 5 to 8 pm. Highly recommended.

Everything was perfect about this hotel. It is in midtown Manhattan which can be noisy with street traffic but the windows were super insulated and we did not hear a thing. In many hotels the AC/heating unit keeps me awake at night. Here is is less than a whisper. We had two great nights of sleep. There are many great restaurants in the neighborhood and it is a nice part of the city for walking. For those longer exursions there is a subway two blocks away and a cab is always out front. The very high ceilings in the room give a classy feeling.
The staff all seemed to be very happy to be working there, which makes it enjoyable for everyone.
