I’ve just finished a 10 nights stay at this hotel and I decided to write a full review in English language so that it’s understandable to everyone.
If you think you can sleep in this place you are wrong, the temperature of the room is either too hot or too cold. It is impossible to open the windows by yourself so when you die of heat at three o'clock in the morning you will have to call someone who comes to open it with a chisel, going up with their feet on the heating every single time. That happened to us.
The temperature problem is solved by switching off the radiator and getting dressed a lot but it's not the biggest problem!
The hugest problem is that there isn’t any chance of sleeping at night because as written in other reviews there’re hot water pipes that produce deafening noises. Deafening and lasting for hours, quite often throughout the entire night!
We have asked to change room and we have not been allowed, we have been told that every room has the same problem. We asked the staff 4 times to do something and the answer was always the same: "We can not do anything about it".
When a staff member arrived in the room (one of the times we asked to be able to open the window because we were dying of heat) we explained that we would stay there for ten nights and this person was wordless. A true signal of the way even the staff members consider this place.
The room has no wifi.
As for the shower, you have to wait 10 minutes for the water to become hot and it does not get hot but extremely hot. From icy to boiling.
Usually you choose a hotel to sleep and get yourself together taking a shower: please keep in mind that here it will be very difficult to do either one or the other.
The staff tries to make up for these obvious problems trying to be nice and friendly but what do I do with a smile when I just want to sleep peacefully as my money paid are good and the nights spent there are not?
I booked this hotel months in advance and I can say I also paid a lot of money for what it has to offer: do not make the same mistake. You guys are warned.

Small, but bed and shower are fine, helpfull staff. No free wifi in the rooms though, only in the lobby. Breakfast is an option for $18. Close to subway B and C. Across the street from central park. Heating and airco in the room.

The hotel is wonderfully located in the Central Park North area. An easy walk to St John the Divine Cathedral, Columbia University and St. Lukes Hospital. Located right across from the west side of Central Park makes access to the park very easy. Thew room is on the smaller side but clean, neat and recently redecorated and it accommodates a queen size bed. The en suite bathroom is newly tiled, clean and includes tub/shower. The price was slightly under $160 a night including all taxes, which is quite reasonable for NYC.

We stayed at this hotel on Saturday 12/9/2017 in order to run a ½ marathon at Central park the next day.
The plan was to get a good night’s sleep and not worry about driving in the morning as well as shower before heading back home after the race. Well, there was banging all night on the pipes, and around 3 in the morning when I called the front desk, I was told there was nothing they could do about it.
The bathroom also had roaches. We informed the front desk, and all we were told was that they will contact the manager. Never came up or called the room…nothing!!!!!!! Needles to say we also did not shower in there as planned.
I understand that the price for this hotel is a lot lower than other hotels in the area… we were not looking for frills… we were looking for the basic, a clean place to sleep and shower ( which we got neither!)
Management did not acknowledge our concerns.. we checked out early and went home. Never again!
