The hotel had been recommended to us as an excellent location in the heart of Manhattan. In that regard, we weren't disappointed. A subway entrance is right as you walk out the building or, if you want shopping, Macy's is just a few blocks away. You really can't beat the location, but that's if you're willing to suffer through the freezing rooms and the staff's attitudes. As soon as we walked into our 8th floor room (with an excellent view of a brick wall), we went to turn up the thermostat. Alas, it was stuck on 60 degrees, regardless of our attempts to turn it up. We called down to the main desk and after forty-five minutes a repairman arrived. He poked and prodded around, messing with the main unit for a couple minutes (we later realized all he did was press the "on/off" button of the main unit), and then declared it would get warm in no time. Twenty minutes later: still freezing! We replicated his actions to no avail. Needless to say, we tried to stay out of the room as much as possible, despite the outside temperature holding steady at 20 degrees. The room was clean, though the lights gave off an odd, bright white light, which is fine if you're working in a high-tech laboratory, but not if you want to read a book in bed. The TV - a flat screen Sharp - had a number problems, including freezing up, making squeeling sounds, and not responding to the remote. The internet was similar. The hotel website boasts high-speed wireless internet, free!, in every room. In reality, every room is equipped with the lowest broadband wireless access, but with the option to purchase high speed for $12.95 per day. Geez! Was the room worth the price? Heck no! Upon checkout, there were two staff members behind the desk, and one was helping another couple. The other staff member was bustling around, but clearly doing nothing. The man before me kept trying to grab her attention to ask her if a box of his had arrived. She said, "you expectin' a box?" before ignoring him and moving on to other tasks. His repeated efforts to get her attention were fruitless. Five minutes later, she asks me if I want to check out, completely ignoring the guy who had been desperately trying to talk to her for ten minutes. I motioned to him and said, "he was here before me," and finally she listened to his question and helped. The service was poor, the staff rude and inefficient. The only redeeming thing about the hotel was the bellman and his staff. They were pleasant, quick, and courteous. On the whole, I wouldn't stay there again, regardless of the location.

We stayed here for 4 nights. It was an all girls shopping trip. This hotel was exactly what we wanted location wise.We wanted somewhere central for shopping. The location of this hotel was excellent minutes walk from Macys and 5th Avenue.Staff were really nice and helpful. We ate in the restaurant one night and it was really nice.We went across the road to Speedys(restaurant across the road) most mornings for breakfast. They did a great buffet breakfast. The hotel itself and the rooms were very clean. My only complaint would be the size of the room. I found the room very small and storage area for luggage etc was minimal.
This hotel was also great for sight seeing most of the sights were walking distance from the hotel.ie Empire State Building,Central Park,Time Square,Madison Square Gardens etc..There is also a subway station straight outside the door of the hotel .

Spent 4 nights at the Radisson and we were well impressed. Courteous and helpful staff and spacious clean double bedded room.
Lobby can get busy as the hotel has lots of Cabin Crew staying but was never a problem, never had to queue for one of the 3 lifts. Stayed in Room 320 which was not a quiet room at night with plenty of traffic noise and even the noise from the subway which runs under the hotel, but to be honest this added to the NYC experience for us!! We walked to the street vendor every morning to get a 1 dollar coffee (just on the corner) then took them back to our room. We did eat in the hotel a couple of times and the food was excellent however just over the road is 'Speedys' which I would definately recommend for a buffet breakfast/ lunch or dinner, cheap excellent home cooked food which you help yourself to on a paper plate then have the plate weighed to pay for it!
Great location convenient for shopping and sightseeing, 25minute walk to Central Park at the top end and a 10 dollar taxi ride to Ground Zero at the bottom.EXCELLENT would definately stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Martinique as first time visitors to New York from New Zealand - it was central to everything we wanted to do and everyone was very helpful. We ate in the restaurant for the three nights we stayed in New York and the meals were great. Especially enjoyed being able to get a meal at 11.30pm after having been to a show on Broadway. Would definitely stay there again.

HI

I have just returned from a four night stay here with friends. the hotel its self was very nice, the staff were helpful and it was very clean. we had an exxperience of a man trying to get into our room at 11pm, this was very distressing for three girls travelling alone. the staff took ages to answer our distress call which was not reassuring. the man in question was later found on cctv however we did not feel satisfied with the responce of the head of security. he assumed we were cabin crew!! and that room hoping was normal!! i would stay here again with my husband but not with the girls.

the bar was very pricey but hey ur in manhattan what do u expect, the breakfast menu is vey limited eggs eggs and more eggs.
