lovely hotel in great location. Small room but enough when there for a few days sight seeing and as much as expected in New York. Roof top terrace is a must see as great view of the empire state building and only a short walk from shopping! Would definitely recommend

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights on a shopping trip to new York

Plus Points
Extremely comfortable bed, one of the best I have slept in
Excellent shower and good size cubicle
Continental breakfast : basics, but all you needed for a good start to the day
Friendly and helpful staff
Great location, close to everywhere we wanted to be especially Macy's !
Locked room to store suitcases when we checked out
First Class free WiFi reception throughout the hotel - if only all hotels were like this

Not so Good
We had a room at the front of the hotel on the 6th floor. The noise from the traffic (esp the hooting) was very loud, If you're used to it or a heavy sleeper it may not be a problem, but we were both woken up several times by the noise. Request a back room if you're concerned.

We would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to friends

Room Tip: Request a quiet room at the back of the hotel if possible

Stayed in the Metro Feb 2014. It was a special trip to New York celebrate my 50th birthday , The Hotel gave me a free room upgrade and left some free drinks and a happy note in my room . The hotel is in a great location for all the sights and there a plenty of restaurants and bars locally. The staff were helpful when required but not pushy. I cant wait for my next stay in New York and the hotel Metro

Room Tip: free breakfast is a plus

Took with for 50th birthday to New York and so many choices it's easy to make mistake and pick a hotel with more stars than quality. This hotel only 3 stars but def deserve at least 4 as stayed in 5 star hotels who don't come close to this one, stayed 5 nights from 18th feb and found the place spotless staff helpful and breakfast very good as I'm not really a breakfast person so had toast yogurt. Cereal and coffee but was Aldo muffins and other pastry dishes if you like that sort of thing.coffee and tea free all day and rooftop terrace which I gives perfect view of Empire State Building. This hotel is in perfect position for all amenities and subway practically outside , stayed on twelfth floor a premier queen room at back so really quiet as New York is a loud place 24/7 as it really does never sleep so would recommend a premier queen room. Anyway loved New York and hotel always played massive part of holiday and10/10 for this one many thanks

Room Tip: Premier queen 12th floor as New York busy 24/7

I visit NYC a couple of times of year and always try to stay at the Hotel Metro. Last weekend I had the pleasure of staying again. The staff are always so pleasant, without being in your face all the time and the location cannot be beat! Macy's, the subway, Empire State Building, 5th Avenue, Times Square all within a few minutes walk. This stay I was on the penthouse floor in a Premier King and it was so peaceful. I love the rain shower; I could stay in there forever after walking the streets all day. The complimentary breakfast sets you up for the day and so what if it's served on paper plates. Thank you to all at the hotel for a warm and safe stay. Also the Metro Grill is great for a Pinot Grigio pit stop in between all that shopping!

I have been NYC on many occasions, but I have not previously stayed here.
We chose this hotel due to it being in an excellent location.
The room was small but perfectly adequate. It is clean and serviced daily by chambermaid service.
The breakfast it like most, self service providing bagels, pastries, tea, coffee and juice.
What really let the hotel down was the staffs attitude. I was left with the feeling that their motto was "They will help, but only if they had to"!!
Look at other hotels first before staying here.
I wouldn't choose to stay here again.
