Radiator noise kept me up at night. Shower facet needs improvement in order to get hot water. The blow dryer provided was inefficient. I appreciated the staff very much but the lack of a good night sleep as well as a morning hot shower may prevent me from staying at the hotel again. The location is great, character of the room was great, cleanliness was great and staff was great. If the radiator and facet were not an issue I would stay each time I visit NYC which is every other month.

Well located, very close to the Empire State Building. Clean, comfortable room with safe. Wi-Fi in room, plus 2 Macs in reception. Room was too hot though as the heating system is old. Would stay again.

Staff was all very gracious and welcoming, but the hotel is undergoing extensive renovations and is basically unlivable from 8-5 daily. Great place to drop your things and explore the city, but not to sleep in! Beds were incredibly comfortable, rooms were sparse, but had everything you could need.

Staff was very nice. Our room felt like we were staying with a friend in their tiny city apartment with old pipes and needed a serious reconditioning. The room was 97 degrees when we came in, so we turned the window unit air conditioner from 1984 on and had to leave it on during our entire stay. Our trip was in the beginning of March. The bathroom was tiny and made a strange noise whenever the toilet flushed. And if you moved slightly to the right, you could easily burn your bottom on the old pipe that was probably not up to code. The shower was dirty and there was two choices of water temperature, scalding or frigid. The water pressure was like a sink faucet. The walls had serious cracks and the elevator was claustrophobic. I'd maybe stay here again if someone paid me $2,000. I don't know if the theme is hipster chic/starving artist here but if that's not your style, I suggest booking somewhere else.

They are under MAJOR renovation and we were woken by VERY LOUD noises early every morning. I would not recommend staying here until the repairs are complete. One morning we had no hot water. I will say that the staff was all very nice and helpful.

I've stayed at Gershwin before and have always enjoyed the place. It's well located at 5th and 27th, staff are warm and professional. Can't beat the value for money ... Dinet and Angel at front desk are always very helpful!

The hotel is in a good location, in midtown near Empire State Building, in the corner with the Fifth Avenue. The rooms are average but the cleanliness and the service are very good. The only problem is the renovation in progress
