“Very Nice Hotel”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Instead of driving in for an important morning meeting in Manhattan, the four of us (2 adults, 2 preschoolers) stayed here for a night during Easter week using points (published rates were absolutely crazy for Easter week/Tribeca Film Festival week).

There are many positives about this hotel. The first is that is has been renovated in 2013 and it shows. Front desk staff was very nice and check in was a breeze. The hotel has multiple elevators and all were very fast and spacious. The 12th floor "lobby" is set up like a lounge but there were plenty of places to sit and eat breakfast. It has a modern coffeehouse feel to it (bookshelves, tables with power outlets, comfy couches, flat screen TVs and lots of space to move around). The staff at the breakfast bar was nice too and delivered your order to where you were seating. (e.g. They find you). I don't think they serve lunch or dinner though but the space is always open.

Our king room with sofa bed was on the 22nd floor and overlooked 3rd ave. Very spacious for Manhattan and clean. Bathroom is clean (nothing broken, good water pressure for shower and toilet flush). Sofa bed mattress is thinner than I thought it would be but it didn't matter to our kids. Adults may find it not as comfortable as the regular bed which was very nice.

Dorm sized fridge is empty so you can put your stuff in there. Duane Reed is next door and they have everything you can possible need for reasonable prices. If you're too lazy to walk outside, the hotel does have it's own nook on the first floor for juices, snacks, etc.

The midtown sights (FAO, Rockefeller, Central Park) are all walking distance (10 mins or so). There are 2 subway lines on the same block as the hotel that will bring you anywhere in NYC. Very very convenient.

I parked on my own one block away and saved $13 from the valet parking they offered. There are also many eating places (upscale, casual, and street) in the immediate area too.

Overall I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future. It's away from the craziness of Times Square but still a close walk or subway ride.

We had arrived in New York to be placed in a hotel that was a box with little care for it's paying clientele.
The reception arranged the reservation at very short notice with a book in that so smooth it went un noticed.
Perfectly located for the sights, the staff were superb from doormen to cleaners to concierge. Never used the eating area but it was there if needed and the rooms were spacious. Only complaint was no tea but there is a supermarket next door for most snacks and supplies. Great breakfasts across the road.....
Definitely would recommend it as a base with a genuine staff helping you to enjoy their city

Stayed here with my wife and 10 year old daughter. The hotel is well located on 3rd Avenue. The area is quieter than, say, 5th Avenue but it is within easy walking distance of Midtown's attractions and there are many local shops and cafes. The local area feels very safe and family friendly.

Our room was spacious, clean and well equiped. The sound proofing was good and the noise from the street was no problem. The views from the 30th floor were stunning ! There is free wi-fi in the room which was fast and reliable.

All staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and we really had a good stay here.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor.

Located in midtown Manhattan with great links to the subway, this hotel is fantastic for a sightseeing or business travel. I stayed as part of a university fieldtrip and the transport links made it very easy to get around Manhattan, staff were also friendly and always offered help.

The room I stayed in was very spacious and modern, all of the home comforts were available, ie TV and free wifi throughout the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable and the maid, mine was called Sylvia was very good at her job and the room always looked very clean and tidy.

Breakfasts are lovely, once you get them. Instead of a buffet you have to queue which was often time consuming and if you arrive later on the queues got very long. I couldn't fault the friendliness of the staff however who were willing to go the extra mile to ensure you were happy.

Green Features: Towels were only changed upon request which is great for the environment!

This hotel is a great place to stay for families, business and groups too. The staff are really friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to ensure your stay is both comfortable and easy. They provide good advice about restaurants/diners and travellling around Manhattan, as well as travel connections to JFK and Newark airports etc. The rooms are clean, large and, if near the top floor, have great views. The room service was excellent and cleaning was efficient and unobtrusive. Made for a really secure and comfortable stay. You are in walking distance of a lot of tourist sights - Central park, Top of the Rock, Grand Central station, the U.N. building, Queensborough bridge, M.O.M.A., the metropolitan Museum , the Frick collection and the Whitney museum amongst many others. Times square is walkable from here and Broadway is a 20 minute walk. You are also close to various subway stations to take you down to Staten island ferry or up to the Yankee stadium in The Bronx. A highly functional, well managed, friendly and comfortable place.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views and lifts are fast.

Green Features: They have a policy of asking customers if they need to have their towels changed which is good.

Good hotel, great location, spacious rooms.

Near to Central Park for a jog. Nice gym, great restaurants nearby.

Beds were comfortable.

Could have been better if the hotel restaurants served beyond breakfast hours on Sundays. Otherwise a good stay

We are a family of 5 and we had a room that can accommodate us with two queen beds and a sofa bed. The room was very clean and large for a room in Manhattan with free wifi. During the night, I heard talking very loud and I thought it was in the corridor but it was just in the next room. In the morning, we heard the neighbour snoring like he was in our room. It is as if the walls were made of carton. We do not take breakfast at the hotel restaurant, there are several small restaurant very close (Starbucks, etc.).
